Thank you Sir. Slight confusion: If the kinetic energy of a ball is converted into kinetic energy of air molecules, then why isn't the kinetic energy of system conserved?

It is not the part of system because it's initial KE was 0,and some of the KE transfered into heat and many other form of enengy to the air particles. Also it is mentioned in the lecture that TOTAL ENENGY IS CONSERVED in both the cases.
