@@pwrsocket It's literally touchdown but princes spawn in the back and it's chess themed. And most of the stuff doesn't even work remotely close to how chess does

magic archers are bishops, princes are horses and bomb tower is a rook or...well a tower. It makes sense it just doesn't really work in game

Pretty impressive how they managed to get such a cool collab and still managed to make the mode unfun as all hell 😊

ngl the first time i saw the chess royale game mode, it felt like a fan made clash royale parody than an actual game mode

The moment I realised you can just fireball the Prince towers the gamemode started to suck real hard

This game mode could have been so amazing but in the end it turned out to be Fireball spam everywhere And you basically never reaching a tower and losing to someone spell cycling you And quick note ALL SPELLS ARE REMOVED except fireball so yeah there’s literally nothing you can do Fireball spam challenge is what the name should be

Yeah I don't know how spells destroying the bomb, prince, and magic archer towers so easily wasn't one of the first things they thought about with this mode. They should've coded those towers to take reduced spell damage similarly to Crown Towers.

they couldve made this actually fun and fair by making it a sort of turnbased where you can activate your troops and send them off so that you don't have a million spawned princes against you but it's supercell, who would've guessed

All they have to do to get rid of fireball cycle is either make the towers have more spell resistance or even punish them for making such a dirty move by having a deflect ability

They should remove the ability to damage the back towers with spells. Literally the first thing anyone will do is fireball mirror them. You shouldn’t be rewarded for wasting 9 elixir like that

They definitely need to emergency fix the gamemode by making secondary towers immune to spell damage

Okay hold up, my first opponent did the exact same thing in mirror fireballing my towers at the start. I think were in the matrix

it feels like a gamemode they designed in a weekend because they forgot to make a chess themed anything for the chess season and did zero playtesting. literally the entire mode is just mirror fireball mother witch and firecracker and pray your opponent was too stupid to do the same

once you destroy the prince tower, its an instant win

there was so much hype for just another unit spawning mode, and that will eventually stop working after two fireballs

I was going to say how this needs an elo system but then I realised how bad that idea sounded

They needed to call the game mode : Fire ball cycle

I lost a game cuz my opponent fireball spammed my queen when all other pieces were down. I had more damage on his king but still lost because he took my queen. I seemingly remember chess being about taking the king, but I guess in clash royale, they decided it should be the queen for some weird reasons

It would work better if the towers were all spell-resistant/spell-proof

I tend to use fireball mirror and just take out the towers then bull rush with prince and royal hogs

Wait until he found out that if you out a witch 2 tiles behind the left recruit its get stuck and you got infinite spawns

Supersell did not test this gamemode at all, you can literally get a troop stuck on the left side of the screen in between the recruit and the edge by just placing it there(infinite skeletons and bats from witches)

I was really exited for this gamemode. Never have been more disappointed. The bomb/magic archer tower are useless, prince towers are op, fireball meta in the challenge, its is literally just trash

Not only does this gamemode have the most stupid strat of just fireball mirror, not only does it not relate to chess AT ALL, but I believe it’s also literally up to true red/true blue for who can fit more recruits into the fireball range when fireballing the towers in the back. So lazily made lol

i was one of those people getting a 30 win streak with giant skeleton sparky fireball mirror tornado and some additional cards

It seems like nobody has a brain anymore in this game. It always seems like the majority of people just look up the best deck for a challenge. Every game I’ve played of chess royale had someone with 3 spells, mirror, firecracker/princess, some spirit, flying machine, and something like skeleton army or goblin gang. Every game your bomb tower things on one side will get double fire balled their first cycle then second cycle the other side

Would have been better if they just made the bomber, prince and magic archer towers invincible to spells

How to make the game mode better. 1. Make the Rooks, Knights and Bishops immune to spells. 2. Bishops are replaced with super archers 3. Bomb tower is replaced with sparky

Did you know that you could get a witch stuck behing the royal gaurd on the very left if you place it right infront of the bomb tower so she could spawn a horde of skeletons. This+Tombstone spam+fireball+mirror+log+cycle=eternal pain for red and a fat 3 crown

Best game mode with the most complex stategy throw fireballs at prince towers if they don’t do the same you just win if they also throw fireball you just randomly throw fireballs at the Queen tower

The meta is just throwing spells to kill the prince towers

they shoulda just made actual chess with just the sprites of the troops.

this would be WAY cooler if youre forced to play a deck that actually is like chess. And to top it off maybe actually play with an exclusive King card that if dies you lose but no. Supercell being Supercell again and making the most dogshit gameplay out of this as posible😭

yeah the game mode sadly quickly boiled down to "who can cycle fireball and mirror the fastest". though the game mode was ok very early on before people started doing that.

This gamemode is 4 fireballs and then at king tower spell cycle

I would have loved this event... If fireball and any other damaging spell was removed, or made the towers unable to be destroyed by spells
