Clark’s first win, Aces coach on CC, Kate “Money” Martin and today’s games

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever traveled
across the country to play the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night and won their first game 78-73 for Clark's first ever
WNBA WIn.
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been the talk of the
WNBA in the season's opening weeks.
Not all the talk has been kind.
Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon has a suggestion:
"Shut down the noise."
Hammon, whose team hosts the Fever on Saturday night, emphatically called for cooling off period as Clark adjusts to pro ball.
"I think she's amazing," Hammon said. "Our league loves her.
We're just doing our job.
"This narrative of, 'Everybody is hating on Caitlin Clark, and even the black and white thing ... Knock it off. It's not there."
"She's a 22-year-old woman with a lot of pressure.
Hammon said. "She's a rookie in this league. Back off".
Although she hasn't played too many minutes for the Las Vegas Aces, rookie Kate Martin has earned herself a lot of fans during her brief WNBA tenure.
Considering that Martin wasn't considered an obvious draft choice, fans were glad to see her get chosen.
Yet, since there are only 144 roster spots available in the WNBA, just because Martin got drafted didn't necessarily guarantee she'd make the team.
But, sure enough, she did.
And Aces head coach Becky Hammon explained why in a recent interview.
"Her work ethic, her competitiveness and her brain," Hammon responded, when asked about why Martin became a member of the Aces.
"What I love about her is I know what I'm getting when I put her in the game. It's going to be effort, it's going to be smart effort, it's going to be tough effort," Hammon added.
