I liked how Clark didn't say he was going to catch Jordan even though in the end he still did. Clark just knows that if he says it out loud then Jordan would constantly hesitate because he knows if he fails then Clark would just save him. Jordan had to learn to take a leap of faith and have the confidence in himself to fly on his own without Clark's help because 1 day Clark won't be there to save Jordan and Clark knows that as a parent that he needs to teach Jordan how to handle things by himself. Like a parent lying to their children about riding and balancing on a bike saying that they won't let go, before the child looks back and realizes that they're riding on their own after their parents let go a long time ago.

@@JustAStronzoOnYT and my example perfectly illustrates this scene all the more. A child can only pedal so fast while a parent keeps their hand on the bike, but it's when they finally let go that a child can truly ride freely with faster speeds. If Clark had said out loud that he would've caught Jordan, it would've made him more cautious and not fly as fast or as high let alone trust himself enough to fully fly on his own because he would've had to stay close to Clark if he didn't want to fall.

This is more than just a family like Superman and Lois but all families. The most important foundation in this country is families and true core of families is our faith in God. I do hope this show goes on and has many seasons. I also hope that there are more shows that truly help us and give a good example in how we deal with our problems and solve them.

The Kesel run may be a Star Wars reference, but given it's a Superman show, it's highly likely also a reference to Karl Kesel. He's a legendary inker at DC comics and co-created Kon-El Superboy from Reign of the Supermen. My disdain at you all who didn't think about this matches Clark's to Jordan.

Yeah. His character will start getting to the point where he might not even have a point on the show anymore. And Jonathan actually exists in the comics. Something the writers would know, if they bothered to pick up a Superman comic. I just hope that Jonathan doesn’t get to the point where he becomes like James Olsen in Supergirl or Laurel Lance on Arrow, where both characters just had no point on the show anymore. Plus, should the writers give Jonathan powers, I’m not sure if I can see the writers giving Clark and Jonathan the same story again, of Superman training another Superboy.

If Jonathan gets Jon-El's powers than he would still be powerless for the most part since Bizzaro world kryptonians only gain their powers under a red sun instead of a yellow one. Jonathan would need a red sun to use his powers and would always be at risk since our sun is a natural yellow one and he would constantly be weakened and using up his powers without a way to naturally recharge them.

Man the cw really knows how to make a self righteous hypocrite out of women. who never get called out by the men they're hypocrites to Lana really wants to gaslight Jordan with the whole "if you love her you'll keep her out your life" for her being mad that she isn't with superman and that's why she was mad at lois for knowing the truth was cause if Lana knew the truth she wouldn't have married to another man which was her choice and had a kid (just like how lois was mad at Clark for him being superman to gaslight for her choosing superman while rejecting Clark Kent and just like when Iris was mad & gaslighted Joe and Barry for hiding that Barry was the flash because she herself friendzoned Barry for 15 years prior, while fawning over the flash, and simultaneously being jealous of Barry dating linda while Iris herself was dating Eddie at the time doing all the above, all in and it eventually caused Eddie's death ..... damn she's a chaotic mess) but anyway she told Jordan to stay away from her daughter but Lana wants to be apart of Clark's secret who is also Jordans father while she herself is sarah mother so either way her daughter is still at risk. and I blame lois for granting Lana permission to be a hypocrite cause lois herself is a hypocrite. yeah Clark told his secret to lana WITH THEIR PERMISSION!!! and lois was gonna say no but lois told Lana about everything else WITHOUT PERMISSION and she did that with John Henry as well, she changes the narrative when it benefits her. it's like women hypocrites commodify themselves. edit: she's hostile toward Jordan for not wanting her daughter to know but she's mad that she didn't know. saying she's doing it for protection but refuses to see that narrative the other way around. last edit: Lana only has a point at being mad at Lois because lois knew that Lana would have chosen Clark most likely been together over her current husband if she had known his secret at the time when it was most relevant. and lois decided to befriend knowing that. She felt that Lois was rubbing it in that she was married to Superman, to Clark and not her, for her not not knowing. and lois was rubbing it in just not in a obvious way probably not even known to Lois herself. she was rubbing it in and smiling like her friend simultaneously. but on the contrary like I said it was Lana decision to be with her husband and her being mad was due to her procrastinating and hypocrisy.

It reminds me of Neo's first leap of faith. Except Neo Went in believing and... failed. Hey it also reminds me of Spiderman's first leap of faith when he stood at the edge of a building with web line in his hand, jumping to swing and... hit a wall. Wait wait wait, similar scene was in Spiderverse where Miles stands on an edge of a building and... no, he was to scared. So he went to a much smaller building, ran towards its edge and... he tripped on his shoelaces. Or when Luke in Star Wars looked at his drowning ship... Okay, there are countless of examples where character needs to believe in themselves and fails. This one "subverts expectations" and does it differently. Is it bad that it wants to be different? No. I'm glad I can now see why the trope of failing is so much more exciting to watch even if we see it so many times. The character build up the fear. They're not born to do this stuff. They break through their own fears and overcome the challenge. And their ability to do it doesn't come from any pep talk, Superman standing behind them and repeating they can do it. It's because they weren't ready, they still might not be ready, but they push themselves to do it anyway. And god damnit, the CGI here is so bad.
