Clarifying My Thoughts on Hard Work, Hustle, and Happiness | Gary Vaynerchuk Original Film

A lot of people misunderstand what I mean when I talk about “hustling” and “working your face off” …
The truth is, I just want people to be happy. If your ambition is to own a sports team or build a big business, there’s no way you can get there without putting in an obnoxious amount of hard work.
On the other hand … if you’re happy working 7-8 hours a day and being part of two softball teams, that’s amazing!
I’m not trying to push people to work like me … I’m just trying to push people to back up their ambitions.

It’s crazy that Gary Vee was the father figure I needed when I didn’t have one. Two years later I’m so much happier and more proud of myself because I took the time to try to implement his lessons and it’s made me a better human being and for that I love you Gary❤️ I’m sure a lot of other ppl will agree with me when I say you were there for me when a lot of other ppl weren’t. 😊

Very true man. I lost my father several years ago and I think the reason Gary resonates so much and reminds me of the advice my dad would give is he tells you what you need to hear vs what you want to hear. Too many people blowing smoke about manifesting things out of thin air with no hard work. Luck is always exponentially multiplied by hard work.

It's really about how advertising works. Advertising is about getting you to connect an emotion with a product. We buy something for how we think it will make us feel. Usually, that feeling is happy and successful. Then we need to ask what could I "do" rather than what could I buy that would make me happy and successful.

I listened to Crushing it while walking my dogs a few months ago, and then it clicked. From that day forward I decided to create content and provide value rather than consume it. Providing value to others has been a life changer. The gift is to the giver. I make a video every day, hours and hours of editing, I don't take weekends off. But I don't even notice. I make less money, but control my schedule, and now know what you mean 'work is the happiness'. The process is the is the goal, you just need to find the right process for you. Thanks Gary.

I’ve joked around that it’s almost like a blessing and a curse for me to feel that way. Like if I’m doing something that isn’t my passion or isn’t pushing me closer to my passion then that shit hits me HARD every time. On the bright side though, that pushes me to do exactly what I love, because I know I literally can’t live any other way!

People who make 1 million could be set financially, but unhappy....where as; someone who's making 30K a year is happier than a pig in shit because they are doing the right thing with their life. that right thing is finding happiness in what they're doing. @GarVee you’re the best at what you do. It’s impossible to discuss that. Your energy is just in flow! That’s pure beauty to see how it is when someone is purely aligned. That’s that! Period.

I decided to move to Vietnam for 8 months, when everyone said I needed to stop traveling and get a real job. I knew Vietnam was the one place I was really happy. I was a vet struggling with depression. Most people thought I was crazy. 5 months in I think it was the best decision I've ever made for myself.

Watch this man every day. So inspirational to me, and now because of Gary and my determination to become a full time twitch streamer and content creator I’ve been seeing some great numbers. I work full time now as a department manager at Walmart, and when I’m not working I’m grinding to make my dreams become reality.

Hard Work Is good. As long as you do what you love. Hustle is good. As Long as its towards a definite Purpose. Happiness is good. As long as it is not in the expense of others but rather helping others.
