    These days I REALLY Miss these kind of anime. Don't get me wrong. I love the "new" anime too but I just don't get ALL the feelings I got from Clannad. Thank God Clannad was my first "real" anime except shows like naruto or Pokémon.

    This is mostly because anime nowadays rush their stories. Clannad took its time, 2 25 episode episodes. Anime nowadays felt too standard rushed 12 episode commercial affair

    till this day, i still rewatched clannad every now and then. It has that emotional impact that most animes doesn't have. It's an anime that really touches your feeling. It made me laugh (the comedy is pretty good), sad, motivated, etc. The best part of this anime for me is just how relatable it really is. It explores differents sides of problems within relationships, as friends, as family, as lovers, etc. People might think that the nagisa scene is really sad (which of course it is). However other scenes sold it to me greatly as well like when tomoya was furious with his dad and in the end forgave him, when sunohara and tomoya fought in the rain, when kotomi regretted having destroyed her parents works, when ushio treasured the robot that tomoya gave him, when akio gave up his dream for nagisa, when akio told nagisa to act, etc. I found all these moments very relatable to me and it gave me the motivation i needed to keep moving forward.

    Clannad was like one of the very anime I watched, which I honestly regretted just because of how much I cried whilst and after watching it. Although it is undoubtedly my favourite anime, the fact I cry every time the dango song pops in my head makes me wanna experience the first time I watched it all over again. Not too long ago I rewatched the whole anime after almost 4 years and by the first episode I was already crying hysterically. At end, I somehow ended up staying up the whole night crying because in some ways I could relate to everyone of the characters. Also I laughed my ass off because the comedy is actually funny....

    Rawrable i know what you mean i first came a cross this anime. In a top 10 list. I because curious. SO. I did some research on the show. Then after watching the series. I was impressed with the story and chatters. We don't get romance story's like this very often. And after that i found that there was a spin off and just like the original. It was a such a grand story.

    I think the great thing about this story is that the five points are in harmony with each other to show “what is important?” Every moment of the animation depicts the scene in detail, and the music on it creates tremendous excitement. Animation,music and stories are all great,but there's something like a code that we can only understand when they collide. In short, there's nothing like CLANNAD!

    Point 5: Comedy and Tragedy. "This was revolutionary." Did this guy just tell me that the concept of tragic comedies were something brand new? I have never seen this show, but going off of the comments, it seems to be quite liked and overall the video made it look like it was all genuine. So how on earth does that fit together...?

  • @EscaVODS

    @EscaVODS

    It's not a tragic comedy by any means. Just like real life, everyday life is composed of "all happy and sad things rolled up into one" which the show's main theme, "Dango Daikazoku" refers to.

    Clannad is one of my favorite animes of all time, but what impressed me most is that you mentioned Noucome which is my favorite trash anime ever, it helped awaken some stuff in me lmao. Yeah, S1 Clannad is legit funny, which is something I’d say a lot of rom-coms ignore, or at least can’t keep up due to their less good writing(or more subtle and only Japanese viewers can pick it up who knows)

    I'm a bit late to the party on this one. There isn't any doubt that Clannad is great, It's one of my favorite slice of life series. I still remember my first time watching the series, knowing it was going to be special after the first couple of episodes. The ending left me a little sour since they copped out. That aside, everything you've said about Clannad is pretty accurate. I'll leave you with a question: Have you seen Your Lie in April? I'd like to hear your opinion about it in detail. I've said before that I think it's as good and possibly better than Clannad despite having a similar story.

  • @dozokhu7392

    @dozokhu7392

    Chris Dodd I don't feel like the ending was bad. Confusing, yes, but once you figure out the meaning to it or give into theories about it it becomes one of the most interesting endings in any anime. Also I must add that I just couldn't get into Your Lie in April due to its complete predictability which Clannad had MUCH less of. The only part of that show I think I really enjoyed was the ending (I don't mean the fact that the show ended but that I think the ending couple scenes of that show were actually really good. God I need to stop writing essays for comments.

  • @gabecomstock7251

    @@dozokhu7392 to be fair, Clannad's was also extremely predictable. I pretty accurately predicted what would be happening episodes ahead of time. Interestingly though, Clannad and Your Lie in April are my two favorite anime. Because they're so we'll written that the predictability doesn't detract from the impact of the scenes at all. You may see it coming (Nagisa's death, Kaori's death) but that doesn't make it hit any less hard. You're still left in tears.

  • @dozokhu7392

    @dozokhu7392

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, but after Nagisa's death, you still had that time where you weren't quite sure what Tomoya was gonna do. He pretty much lost the only person who was really close to him, and so there was definitely a variety of ways you might expect him to act. Yeah, some things were to be expected, but I mean sometimes an author does need to have his characters do logical things to remain relatable believe it or not. There just wasn't any of that unexpected actions in Your Lie in April for me (though at this point I might be forgetting some more since it's been over a year), besides when the girl suddenly has a magical violin for some reason.

    I've never seen Clannad, and I don't intend to: I know how it ends, and I hate the artstyle. It looks like a 12 year old's attempt to draw an anime face. I really wouldn't be able to take the show's emotional scenes seriously with that artstyle.

    It's because the story is not into aesthetics well, and more into the development and plot. It's a fairly old anime too, from the 2000's. I like the artstyle even if it doesn't look like the awesome and glamorous looks of today's anime, as looks is not the reason why something "works". You have your own tastes, I respect that.

    You are probably spoiled by gorgeous art styles anime nowadays have. Trust me, I had the same opinion as you before watching Clannad years ago. Incidentally, Clannad has a sequence that has the most beautiful animation I have ever seen from a TV production standpoint, probably being bested by KyoAni's own work, Violet Evergarden.
