I don't know how to say but Maeda already state a statement before the anime gets started that the anime gonna be the saddest anime he ever made( I don't know who the wrong Maeda or the fans). So people wait for the anime and at the last episode people find out that the anime become a god not the saddest anime his ever make. So at this point people already be more emotional cause of his statement and because of this anime his decided to end his career.
why tear down a creator just because you dont like their work and go so far as to tell them to they should end their life?? some people will delude themselves into thinking they're providing constructive criticism in reality all their doing is shitting on their work for no reason. When I was a teenager, almost 15 years ago, I became a hermit and locked myself away from my parents and the world for many years. In a lot of ways, I feel like Jun Maeda's works raised me during that time. Both of my parents ended up passing away recently (my mom last month), and I feel like I didn't get enough of their guidance before they were gone. But the values instilled in me from works like Clannad still ring true in my mind as an adult. For that, I will forever appreciate this man and I hope that he overcomes his illnesses and depression. Thank you Jun Maeda.

It's clear to me that he does his best work in visual novels where he's not so limited on word count and can dive deeper into the protagonist's inner thoughts. Every anime project he's made has been criticized for its pacing. I can imagine the pressure he was under after creating his magnum opus Clannad. How do you top that when you're known as the writer who makes people cry? He feels he has to do even more outlandish things and make people cry more. I gave up on The Day I Became a God halfway through. It was bad but it should never come to death threats and harassment. And he's still a great composer. It's mind-blowing that people shred a creator like Maeda to pieces when he doesn't deliver another masterpiece. Exactly, this whole awful story feels like cutting off an angel's wings, LITERALLY. "Angel Beats" is about accepting your fate, even has the theme of donating your organs to save someone's life (this anime came out before Jun Maeda said officialy he needs heart transplant, but I refuse to believe that Sensei's illness and that theme of accepting your fate and donating organs is just a coincidence). Thanks to "Angel Beats" I have my will to be a donor signed in my wallet all the time... "Clannad" series is one of my all-time favorite anime, I cannot not tear up watching or even hearing the soundtrack from "Clannad" (like the "Dango Daikazoku", first opening). I have literally read real comments how people changed their attitude towards having family, they want a family now, and they will sing "Dango Daikazoku" as a lullaby to their child! I just can't... How people can be so cruel? He did absolutely NOTHING wrong to deserve it!

love angle beats or not, there is definitely a problem with his work feeling obviously rushed at the end. It was clear that if the anime had unlimited episode, it was suppose to have a dedicated story arc for each character remembering their past and passing on. Instead, in the last episode they just rushed everything and created a scenario where everyone has to move on and gave us the main heroine story and it ended. Fans anger comes stems from them resonating with his world and character for the entire show only for their expectation to crash and burn in the last 2 episode. Same shit happen with Games of Throne and other media that got rushed. Problem with him is that he has a track record of doing this many times. Some time, they sorta work like Angel beats then sometime we get Charlotte. Regardless, there is no denying that he has a track record of not planning out the anime series and it being rushed at the end. Sucks for him to retire but I think he is a brilliant visual novel writer and should probably stick to that

@@Newbtuber I agree that "Angel Beats" desperately needed at least a few OVA episodes or the second season (just like "Clannad: After Story"), and I do not know why it didn't happen. HOWEVER, you can say the story is finished - the very last seconds of the last episode 13 (after credits!) suggest that at least the 2 main characters (Otonashi and Knade) met in another life. There is also the special episode "Another Epilogue", but I believe it's some sort of alternate ending. But it's shown at least in "Clannad" and "Clannad: After Story" that Maeda-sensei can do the full story in anime form, and do it masterfully. "Clannad" series were complete.

It is part of human nature to be critical of people we expect great things from. Though we lose sight that they are as human as us. They have emotions just like all of us. We lose sight of their needs in place of what we expect from them. In turn, they can become hypervigilant of trying to meet the expectation of others. A lot of the new anime has this feeling of wanting to impress and be memed or put in edits, I miss watching wacky shows with wacky plots and the incentive not being to create a larger than life franchise, the other half are just fan service, fetish exploration or generic Isekai bs, don't get me wrong I still watch anime, but I miss the soul they used to put behind it.
The thing is, this is way more common than what gets brought to light on much smaller scales, for example, so many youtubers who were famous in 2012-16 are nowhere seen now People cannot always be the best, and need to evolve with time, more often than not, people are scared to evolve, bcoz adding a new layer of paint might ruin a painting just as much as it can improve it And, people don't change bcoz of this, it's a part of life But we will always be thankful to the legacy left behind by these people. (Little Busters also got adapted into an anime, but because it wasn't by KyoAni, no one really paid it any attention. It was a decent adaption... but I still preferred the game.) I feel like there needs to be a correction here: Maeda Jun did write Clannad, but he didn't write the scripts for the anime. He wrote the story in the original visual novel, but KyoAni's adaption team were the ones who converted his vision into an anime. With that said, I have to admit that neither Angel Beats nor Charlotte really struck me, and even back then I could recognise that he was a good visual novel writer, but not a good anime screenwriter. It's kind of similar to how JK Rowling was a good novelist but sucked at movie screenplays. That said, I still had a lot of hope for him, as while Charlotte was a bit of a shitstorm at some parts, I saw it as an improvement from the way Angel Beats was handled. However when his third anime tanked, I was fairly disappointed... but I didn't expect him to be harassed this badly for it. He definitely didn't deserve it (especially considering it was not that bad of an anime), and he can definitely still create new things. Now, the reason why I felt that Angel Beats and Charlotte were not that good really came down to one thing: Maeda Jun is not suited for short-form writing. This man has great world-building skills, and the worlds for both of those shows were so vast and interesting that just 13 episodes alone couldn't do them justice. That was why I was so excited when the Angel Beats visual novel was announced, as I felt that he could finally give the world the breathing room it needed. Unfortunately that project has been put on hold after the release of the first part. I feel like there is always a way for him to get back into writing, and it has already been done before: just like the two Clannad anime, let him build the characters, the scenario and worlds with magic realism, and hand the scriptwriting to a skilled writing team. He doesn't have to carry the whole project on his shoulders like before, but instead he can work on what he enjoys, like creating music and world-building.

Thank you for the comment! I agree that when I watch the anime projects from him I always have such a gripe with the pacing, I always wish they were more than 13 episodes for everything to be fleshed out. Even for Clannad it didn’t feel right until After Story where everything just flows and I cried a lot. Despite all that the show still leaves a place in my heart so I picked up the VN but sometimes I worry that the pacing will bother me again. I ended up not starting it yet, but your comment give me some hope. I always think that he knows what it takes to write a good story and I wished I could enjoy it fully with all the pacing limitations. The VN sounds like it would be a good experience so I’ll give it a try! Oh and his music yeah I still play a lot of them from time to time, he really is amazing in many aspects. I hope he will be in a better place

I think bad pacing is a common issue with many anime/manga. creators are forced to either rush the stories or drag the series on for way too long because either the audience wants more plot being developed (even though the author is already working 24/7 just to barely squeeze out one chapter) and publishers want more money so a popular series would go on and on without an end in sight
Charlotte will always have a special place in my heart, Maeda sensei Is The Goat
I didn't know this, this is so depressing😭 He's contributed so so much, he shouldn't have to apologize for anything! And the fact that he made the songs too, I never knew that. No one has touched hearts like he has in the anime community, his work is unique and heartbreakingly beautiful

Seriously, its such a shame. The only anime I've ever seen personally that's managed to recreate the energy of the works he was behind is Violet Evergarden.. and even though Violet Evergarden was a fantastic series, imo it only managed to capture the 'sad/bittersweet' aspect of the Jun Maeda and Key! works, and not the comedy and happy elements/dynamic between characters that really accentuates the tragedy in Key! related works. It's sad that even on this video explaining the situation there are so many negative comments from people.. idk what's wrong w ppl man, it's one thing to hate one something without thinking of the person/people behind it, but to maliciously attack someone for the sole reason of not liking a series they put out? It's a shame fr.
Bro Ive been praying for Angel Beats season 2.The fact that im hearing this news makes me beyond sad 😢😭
No one can't even image how i am grateful to this man. I don't have any rightfull words to describe how VN Clannad changed my life. This masterpiece i would remember until my own death. I can forget myself, my friends but not this momments when i read this VN "Not good enough"? Maeda-san you literally saved my life! You always will be my favorite writer, composer the man who saved me. My lowest bow to you 😭
Can't believe this. Maeda jun is my dream composer since i was kid. All of his song's are light, meaningful, and bring tears. I remember when the first time i watch The Day I Become a God, I'm still not relize that keys VA are working behind it until ep 10? When i found an easter eggs showing Keys logo on the bottle cup. For honest, that anime is not make me impressed enough like clannad, kanon, angel beats, etc. But i was very happy to see this logo again in this era. Just to seen keys VA are still working are makes me happy. Seeing this news, my heart hurts.
Damn 😔. Can we just be kinder to creators?
Angel beats inspired me to continue writing and I enjoyed what little of Clannad I saw. It's deplorable that people would do this and as someone who looked up to his works it just makes me feel depressed. Sigh what an awful world we live in.
Clannad is my favorite anime of all time. It helped me so much when I was far from my family, depressed, and also plays a role for stopping me from doing stupid things to myself. Hearing Jun Maeda, the creator of my all time favorite now in this situation is just hard breaking. Kinda hopeless since I couldn't help him the way he helped me.
To be honest, i love "The day i become a god" was a very wonderful anime. The graphic, the story and the music is just amazing. To this day, i still listen to its opening. Even though i wish there are more episode to elaborate on things that are not explained and to give more build up towards the last arc, i would not call thia anime bad or even mid. Its was good. With that in mind, i wish people didn't trash him that much and i hope Jun can be recovered from the mental scars that his fans gave him. I hope he is okay, he is an amazing artist.

Well, this was unfortunate to know, It’s a shame seeing the fall of a talented individual, i hope things eventually gets better for him in the future, I wish him all the luck, he deserves as much, as anyone else.
I will always remember Jun Maeda for Clannad After Story. Nothing beats it until today. We all have our favourites, and we all will remember the best of it.
Jun Maeda's last anime *was* a really heart breaking in a way - especially with that ending. It had potential. Too bad I didn't feel much for the characters. They lacked in substance and the whole story from beginning to end felt like filler.

Personally i enjoyed The Day I Became a God and what a depressing way to start a saturday. i feel so sad for Mr Maeda this man has created a few of my top favorite anime series i really can't stand the fans of anime today with all this isekai shit every season now and all they care about other than that is battle shonen two genres i don't give a damn about. this man deserves more respect.

Yeah, i actually enjoyed The Day I Became a God too, it's not the best, but i actually bought to tear in some moment, if i have to critique it, it just the plot twist near the end (the reason why she can predict thing and "cured" from her disease), it sure shocking, but it sooo twisted that kinda make the relationship from the beginning till that point feel wasted. It's like changing the genre of the anime at that point

@@rozanyan_8700 I also enjoyed The Day I Became a God but i did not realised people hated it this much.
The higher you climb, the harder you fall. Also blame the genre shift in the industry, Maeda should've been retired after charlotte. He's already being a legend in our era.
Maeda-sensei has alas become one of his own characters that we so much loved once, sunk into an abyss where, no matter how much he does, he'll never be once again acknowledged as if all he had achieved before didn't happen. Now and in the future, as time passes, he'll be remembered for the good times, and hopefully one day he'll get better and come back to give us great memories
Really sorry to see this happen to such a great writer. Part of the problem is that fans often don't grasp the impact these comments have on the creators. They feel like it's just a casual gripe session with their friends - but the person who wrote it, who put their heart into it, and who feels those harsh words very deeply, is part of that conversation. I can remember posting something. It got over 230 likes, a bunch of supportive comments, and just three negative comments. Guess which three I can remember word for word to this day? Anyone who cares about their work feels the criticism at a personal level. I'm beginning to think that creators should just stay away from the comments sections on their own words altogether. However much you might want feedback and validation, it's just not worth it.
I grow up on all of his Visual novel, Jun Maeda's music is a master peace to make a grown man cry in a dramatic plot. Specially that Clannad, Tomoyo After and Little Buster. It's not his fault on the disappointment on that anime, specially that now i'm know that his sick(Dangerously sick).
Hayao Miyazaki was wrong, anime wasn't a mistake, humanity was.
5:30 He is still writing for Heaven Burns Red, 31A Survival Game is the not the only thing he did. He absolutely hit off with the Heaven burn red x Angel beats collab story. The survival story event was right before the HBR x AB Collab which would make sense why the quality would dip.
Don’t give up on your dreams like that , Jun. You should keep creating these masterpieces even if you don’t make it to the top, cause if you’re always dreaming of being on top pf the world, you’ll just be always disappointed each day. You reached the right people, we aren’t a lot, but we’re here to say we still love and appreciate your work. I want to see you again.

I'm forever grateful to Maeda for being behind my absolute favorite piece of media Clannad, and while that doesn't make his work immune from criticism, it sucks that people don't know when things are taken too far. Hoping the best for the dude.
i also love how you put in a lot of the music from the shows he wrote. they all bring back emotions
Man, he's been the light in the anime world. Few dare to be as bold these days. His writing style is impeccable. I think you're right because during that time other Genres were already popular. Considering his circumstances, it was bound to have low ratings. Now we will never get a sequel for Angel Beats... Sigh. I still can't help but pray he one day comes back...
Maeda was an amazing writer. Angel beats, Charlotte, Clannad, i watched all of his shows and will never forget. 💜
It didn't cross my mind that people on twitter could do such horrible things like that. Why won't they just give him a credit from his previews works. Not dumping him because the show failed to meet their expectation.

Clannad series is my favorite anime of all time. Just hearing the music for the anime makes me tear up. Thank you so so so much for your work. It sounds cheesy but it really left a huge impact on my life. Again thank you.
This is so heartbreaking, for someone that created series that has made me feel more emotion then any other media I've seen in my life deserves eternal respect...the bullies harassing him should be ashamed.
You know how people break that once they succeed in something twice or more people started to expect more and more. at some point you cannot do it anymore. It's like mountain climbing with no end the higher you climb the harder and easier it is to fall. Such a tragic life hopefully he has friends and family to stand by his side to help him shoulder all the shit
I grew up watching this mans works and I rewatched Charlotte like 2 months ago. It's just sad to see this happen.
Finally someone covers this story. When I heard about all of this over a year ago I was incredibly sad. Not only because he basically quit writing but also because the anime fandom basically bullied him into doing it. The fact that a fandom about this media I so so so much enjoy did this to someone is so incredibly sad. Why cant we realize that we are all humans and should respect each other? Did I think Kamisama ni Natta hi was a good show? No, not really. Did I still enjoy it and would I have watched it if I had known it would be like it was? Absolutely. Did I bully Maeda Jun by continuesly telling him that I didnt like his work? No obviously not. I might think its not the best show but I still saw what he was trying to tell and I could feel the work he put into it and respected what he did. Maeda Juns work always provided me with comfort even if, especially later ones, had some problems. He is a human like everyone else is so to expect every show of him to be a banger is just naive. I get that people where hyped about Kamisama because he himself hyped it up so much but people should realize that taste is different, people are different and people think different and therefore statements like these are always subjective. He created timeless classics and Im still sad that he got treated that way and quit writing or essentially making Anime because of it.
Nah man this made me cry 🥺
While i have not any other of his works I watched Clannad and played the visual novel. Never have I watched an anime that has changed my perspective on so many things in my life. I'm so grateful for the work he has provided thus far because nothing else that I can think of can tear my heart in two after hearing 1 second of Nagisa's theme. Clannad if my fav anime of all time, Kyou is my fav anime character of all time, and the series this man created has touched me in a way I didn't think shows could do and could make music I didn't know I could respond too some intensely, so that fact he went through all of this breaks my heart. This video right here is one of the reasons of why I really dislike the anime fandom at times. There's one thing if analyzing and critiquing and anime for its faults but its the anime community so they see one thing they don't like (idk about over in japan but at least here in the west its very much like) oh this is garbage and then people go and complain about it on twitter leading to things like this. I will forever be grateful to this man for the things he has made me feel think, and even cry about just from 1 show/visual novel/music and I wish nothing but the best for him making music going forward and personally I can't wait to hear what he does next. Kind of weird to say but Thank you Jun Maeda for the memories
Jun Maeda is a wonderful person His work in Angel Beats is a real Gem It's so sad to realize that some people don't have any idea how important Jun Maeda's work was Angel Beats is my favorite anime of all time and it inspired me a lot This Anime means a lot to me It really hurts me a lot after knowing this
The internet is brutal. Anonimity makes people often feel invincible. All the death threats and stuff like that are pure evil, we're seeing it here again, but sadly stuff like that will remain. His works are legendary. I feel truly bad after hearing this.
Clannad+ Afterstory is such a masterpiece, i cant even describe what this man established
maeda one of the best writers of our time. angel beats made me actually interested in well written and meaningful anime really broke me when i first heard how he was treated after charlotte and also seeing how people talk shit about him. hope i can play HBR soon
Japanese social media is ruthless to the issues that aren't even that bad. It reminded me of another time where a Japanese wrestler committed suicide because of all the death threats because she did something bad in a show only afterwards was announced was scripted but even so why go after someone's life/mental wellbeing?Just glad he didn't do the same but sad at the fact at what the internet did to him and the result of it
i admire this man's works i felt projected sometimes with the main characters, and personally it helped me a lot to carry on my life, he's my favorite
Ngl, his Clannad After Story made me cry a lot until the last ep
Some people are very toxic he doesn't deserve that kind of hate
That sucks.. I have watched more than 1000 anime and Jun Maeda's works are my favorite. My favorite anime of all time is clannad :( . I love all of his works, including "The Day I Became a God".
Man... this is something that will surely put my teenager self to cry even more than with any of his works I still remember watching clannad and finding out what a visual novel was after a while using google
Angel Beats is one of my favorite anime of all time. Saw it back in my high school days and I still cherish my memories watching the show multiple times. It just sucks to hear that Jun Maeda has been having it rough recently but hopefully things will get better for him.
Other comments have stated this, but Jun Maeda does still write for Heaven Burns Red. I highly recommend checking out a story translation on KZread or something because it is a fantastic story and very popular in Japan right now despite the complaints about the Seishun 31A event story. Of course it also has some fantastic music with the band "She is Legend" in the game being on par with Girls Dead Monster and they even did a cover of Crow Song for the Angel Beats collab event it had recently. Edit: I honestly wish this video did more research on Heaven Burns Red even though the aforementioned Angel Beats collab with Heaven Burns Red was well received and the game itself is doing quite well. It’s true that he quit writing for anime but not for other projects and that is a very important distinction that I felt got glossed over a bit and had to be clarified by the comments.

I liked "The Day I Became god" The characters were fun to watch and the ending was honestly pretty sweet. Also, I never knew all these shows were by Key- Hopefully this helps their mental health and they can live a peaceful life
Angel beats was what got me through my post high school days of being lost for a long time. I abhore the idea that an idea is vocalized so strongly in such a negative way just because it is permissible. That has destructive consequences and most Mangaka are prone to overworking themselves for the people who enjoy their works to the point of near collapse. Actually term, look it up. My pain goes out to the working storytelling genius who never stopped putting these beautiful works up and took the time to bring the visuals to us year after year. If Maeda knows it, he's an artist and we should be proud to have artists that card about what really hits the heart. Even the desire to look past it, I loved his last works. You didn't cry? Well, that's how it goes but I did in claimed after story, angel beats and even Charlotte. You don't get to see that a lot anymore in a lot of anime. Bravo, and I hope that he will have at least music from these films and series to live on side by side so that they'll never be forgotten. I still listen to Rewrite soundtrack and Roaring tides from After story and Lisa only got her real start thanks to Angel beats in my eyes. Thank you for being a true rebel! Hope you'll support the art and creations of a single project made into many branches over time. Thank you.
Clannad is my favorite romance anime. Maeda's work has always been something I love. Angel Beats impressed my grandpa with it's heart and honest portrayal of emotion. He was only passing by the tv and doesn't watch anime. But he stopped to talk to me about it. That's pretty special to me.
Omg, I never knew about all the stuff that happened, but I think we should somehow send a message to Jun Maeda? Maeda’s projects and music were extremely moving. I loved his works and they were so influential in their message and scope; I spent countless nights reading them, even going all the way back to his contributions in the original VN Kanon, and of course later with Clannad. I hope he doesn’t give up, and that’s awful that he was subject to that harsh criticism.

Exactly what I was thinking; organizing some kind of... (I was thinking thread, or public post, but I think the haters that somehow managed to comment extremely negative things about him on *this* video would make it in then) group letter to be sent to him, with testimonials and positive messages towards him sent from thousands of people who loved his works and feel like their lives have been positively affected by him. There could honestly be a major start in that just by replying to alot of people commenting on this video alone; the only issue is how to reliably get it to him? If you have any ideas on the getting it to him part, I'd legitimately be down to put in some footwork in reaching out and collecting testimonials from people. Even he decides he would still rather just do music, at least he can retire from writing with a sense of love, positive impact, and accomplishment instead of a sadness with the nature of people. Seriously, I'm down. Would be nice to know someone else might be in it with me though?
This hurts so much because sensei really cares about what his fans think about his work and the way he apologizes makes me want to cry. Nobody should be treated like this, especially not somebody who contributed so much to the anime community!
This shocks me and makes me sad because Angel Beats and Jun Maeda saved my life and inspired me to make music and pursue storytelling and art. To hear he’s thought of taking his own life when he’s inspired so many people is just horrible. I truly hope he’s doing better. Wtf is wrong with people? Jun Maeda is a certified legend in my book!
This is just so heartbreaking. This man is responsible for the first Visual Novels I've ever played, and brought me to tears to. This man's music was so moving that I had to learn how to play them on my own instruments, and every time I played them, I remembered the emotional stories attached to the songs. This man's stories were so emotional that it set a standard for what I tolerate both in other works, and in my own writing. I have my own opinions of why some of his works suffered, mainly a lack of a proper medium for him, but I still think the man is brilliant. He is just a victim of circumstance, and his brilliance can no longer be translated how he wants it to. I wish him well, and hope he will always be remembered for his heights, and not his lows.
I hope people will start to send him support after this video this is so sad🥺
That's really sad, I didn't know this was happening to Jun Maeda. He's one of my favorite anime creator, Clannad and Angel Beats were some of the best thing in 2010s anime Sometimes the fans are just scary, what's wrong with these people? He didn't deserve the death threats and harassments over one failure, especially because of his health declining :(
I love angel beats and Clannad so much when I watched them for the very first time🥺✨
I really wish I could just hug him and tell him how much I love his work and music. Clannad changed my life and even stopped me from considering ending my life. He made me the anime fan I am today, and in my opinion, he has written the best relationship everyone should aspire to have in Tomoya and Nagisa.
Even if he can't make as good stories as before shoudn't be a reason to harrass him. Jun Maeda made my favourite story of all time, Little Busters and i will have utter respect for him for all my life. I wish he doesn't do anything stupid with his life. Even if he can't create good stories anymore, his music is still a masterpiece and i wish he will continue making more godly songs.
the moral of this story is: quit while you're ahead.
i wish the best to Jun Maeda, his music really touches me still after all these years. i loved Kanon to Angel Beats, and i also appreciate his newer works and Heaven Burns Red is awesome! i hope he recovers and if not for writing i hope he still goes strong with his music!
I personally loved the writing in the Survival game thing, and Heaven Burns Red overall is the best game I've ever played in my life. I personally don't understand how he's so self conscious about this when he's probably the most skilled writer of BOTH music and games/anime of all time
Damn, this guy was partly the reason some of the best slice of lief visual novels exist. Tori no Uta is an amazing intro and one hell of a way to start a career and if there's one thing Key/Visual Art did right aside from everything else they did right, it was the music. That being stated, I respect the man who stuck to what he was great at and didn't change for anyone. Even if his audience grew, his achievements continue to stand. That being stated, there's a picture that mentions he was involved in Tomoyo After. The ending for Tomoyo After that we generally know was actually the alternate ending. A lot of people didn't like the first ending so it was changed to give a more feel good ending and t-o show that Tomoyo didn't sacrifice so much to end up with virtually nothing. I personally kind of preferred the original ending. Very sad ending but at the same time, a bit more grounded in reality as it feels as if her persistence inevitably paid off even if its just a week.
He's a great writer. Humanity is excessively cruel.

I loved Clannad and his music. I have not seen any of his recent works but I was always confused with the plot hole towards the end of Angel Beats and the rushed ending of Charlotte. For living in the moment, his works are great in conveying emotion but in terms of the big picture, I can see why.

As much as I want to be sad for Jun Maeda I do have to point out some people are harsh and brash with their words it's on you if you can take them to heart or not, and if you can't then this happens Sure some people are there to hate because no reason but I can guarantee there are others that are just disappointed and we're unimpressed with said creation
I don't care about if The Day I Became God was a bad story. I don't care if he was just not a good writer anymore, or hell, if he was genuinely at the end of his rope with writing anime at all. But berating a man who's writing has been on a decline, possibly because of a heart condition that will most likely kill you, to anywhere near that extent of disgusting filth that was spat at him is unforgivable. Hypothetically, if he wasn't known as an anime writing legend then would he have been treated like more of a human being? Because whether or not he wrote Clannad, he is a human person who was made to struggle for no good reason at all.
This is heart breaking... I've been a huge fan of Jun Maeda's works from anime to his beautiful compositions with Nagi Yanagi.
I feel so bad for him. I haven’t seen anything outside of Angel Beats, so I don’t much of his work. Too many people lack empathy today. It’s a disgusting world we live in. I hope is able to find help but I heard the mental healthcare in Japan isn’t that good. I stopped watching anime years ago cus I got tired of all the isekai series, but I’m gonna try to marathon all of his works as soon as I can.
The second i heard that he closed twitter, i think he did the best move of his life. And then he redid it xd
These people are losers for harassing him for bad writing.
Genuinely some of the most heartbreaking news I've ever heard man came out with multiple masterpieces and yet people only like to focus on the mistakes people really need to look at themselves in the mirror and think about what has gone wrong in their life that they feel the need to bash creators for their work I hope he can overcome this and feel better even if he doesn't continue writing I hope he can live happily doing whatever else he wants I wish him nothing but the best for all the amazing memories he has given us
I swear it's always the people that send the developers and creators death threats and harass that make the anime community look bad. And they wonder why some of these Japanese celebrities actors and actresses end up killing themselves. They will harass these people until they reach their breaking point to where they end up hurting themselves and then they want to cry about it saying rest in peace to them.
As long as he's happy only doing music then I'll still support him, but if at any time he wants to write something again I'll be there to read it too.
