I was a fool watching this before any other sad anime, this brought me the saddest plot I could ever handle. as a grown-ass man I never regretted the day I cry like a child and that was way back 2014

Watch it again, I’m choosing to believe that they didn’t actually die. I rewatched this anime 3 times now, and i finally realized the white orb of light went into Tomoyo. He was granted a wish, and he wished they could start over so she wouldn’t die. Which put them back at square 1. But then Nagisa remembered him too and they went back to when she gave birth and his full wish was that she never had the sickness that took her life in turn meaning she couldn’t pass it down to Ushio :) so he got a chance at happiness

Emotional rollercoasters always rock in anime

This anime truly touched me like no other. It changed my entire perspective on life, and made me cry like no other show anime or otherwise ever has. I cried from episode 16 of Afterstory straight through episode 24 with no breaks, and the only regret I have is that I can never experience it for the first time again. 5 years ago I saw it, and it still crosses my mind every single day. People seem puzzled when I tell them Clannad is my #1 anime of all time because it's notoriously sad; that's in no small way the reason why it's my #1. It's so sad, absolutely heart breaking, and yet it's also so very beautiful. My only 10/10; a complete masterpiece.

Obviously the best parts(My opinion at least) 1:32-1:49 4:14-4:31

Takes me back when I first watched this series and how down I was as a teen. Parents divorcing, losing our house, and my grandfather died. This series got me through some hard times

My mom and my two older brothers have been waiting for me to turn 13 so we can all watch Clannad together and it's so sad but I don't regret it at all. Now we wait for my younger brother to turn 13. :")

OMG im so sorry you guys. I've always been able to watch whatever I want and had my family paid a little more attention i might not have ended up as fucked up as i am . Just trust your parents they know whats best for you. but at the same time maybe its just cause they don't understand it try showing them a little more and teach them about all the categories and show them some of the stuff you like so they can better understand and they might even like it me and my mom watched demon slayer, Fate:apocryphal, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden Dragonballz ,dragon ball super , and the dragonball super hero movie and demon slayer mugen train and were watching claymore now she loves teresa

One of my favorite OPs and songs in general ever. Clannad is an experience I wish I could experience completely fresh again. Also, I love this style of lyric video with the characters on every slide

Been about 6 years now that I first watched this anime. Was watching a different anime today when only the chorus of this song popped in my head somehow. I couldn't place where this was from, could only remember a few songs. Went through lists and lists of anime ops hell bent on finding this song. Finally I saw a different song with nagisa's picture on it, and in an instant I remembered. I remembered the blissful days of watching clannad after coming back from school, sneakily staying up at night so I could watch it. As I finally played, tears could not stop rolling from my eyes, as feelings of nostalgia, pain and longing filled my heart. Thank you Clannad , and KyoAni for giving me these beautiful memories and feelings.

Dude that's exactly what happened with me, I was listening to this one anime thinking it was from that then I saw this and it finally popped in my head, I was so relieved

13 years since the first time I’ve watched. Nothing left a stronger mark on my soul before that time or since then.

Im pretty sure that Nagisa and Ushio were sick cause of Sanae bread... It is the only logical reason. Those breads must have developed some fungi that overtime weakens the immunity system
