    When you slow something down, it becomes easier to control, or to observe. Each little aspect of the song that made it sound so peaceful, is drawn out and it creates a very nostalgic and wondrous atmosphere. It has a very warm embrace. The slow ambiance almost sounds like waves under the surface of the sea. This feels natural, this feels familiar, and most of all, this feels right.

    Cold yet comforting, haunting yet holy. A chorus of sad angels, beautiful, sorrowful. The snare like crashing waves on a darkened coast. The bass like a rumbling thunderstorm some miles off. Holds like a cocoon, releases like an unclinched fist. Everything is going to be alright.

    I find it amazing that a lot of the comments here are saying the same thing "This is what heaven sounds like," "... hear this when I die," "I'm so high." I agreed with it all. At regular speed the song is already angelic. Hearing it slowed like this... I mean other than actual meditation music, I'm finding it hard to compare to. Why is it that we think of accession when we hear this? The sound is so otherworldly... I can't make sense of it. But I am so at peace.

    This scared me as I first listened to it. I had no idea what I was feeling. It's ridiculous how this made me actually pass out and start to dream. I felt as if I left my, small, insignificant human body and became truly enlightened. As if I found myself, my actual, true self. My spirit. I left my body, and the planet, and started to fade into the cosmos and become one with the universe. I know it sounds...crazy, and I wouldn't like to bring religion into it (because I'm not religious) but I felt as if something was communicating with me. Not me, my thoughts, my conscious, not another being. But...something.

    As I listen to this... I feel like something is tugging at my soul. I'm sitting on my chair, but I feel like I'm slowly drifting through the roof... down to an ocean, somewhere, where no one has even been. Sitting on cool wet rocks as the sea comes and takes me away. Floating in the quiet ocean. A beautiful swirl of stars shining above. God, the pure beauty in this dark and infinite universe makes me feel like a simple sketch in an ocean of ink. White, black. A tiny dot of black in the ocean of white. That's what we are all, right? Just a bit of nothing in a whole ocean of nothingness. I don't know where I'm going. I don't know where my mind is going. All I feel is the cold water rinsing over me. Now I have no emotion. No feeling. Just floating in the nothingness forever. A peaceful, deep slumber. A cold slumber for all of eternity. No thoughts. Just a warm consciousness drifting among an ocean of quiet. I'm just in my chair, however. In my dark room, one single fluorescent lamp lighting my desk, the harsh light of the computer screen illuminating my face. Ah, who am I kidding. I should take a walk down my cold wet street, into the cold and systematic reality of the world.

    This song is so beautiful. It sounds like the voice of all of nature; an obscure song, buried between many mundane layers but so lovely still, and sometimes like at 2:34 it sounds like thunder roiling and waves crashing. This entire song sounds like a cloudy day at the beach just before a storm where the entire world seems to be in such equilibrium you melt into it and for a second, are just part of the flow of nature and within the tender embrace of Mother Nature

    Richard Lionheart the studio quality of this would maintain all the frequencies on sound from the original, its just a matter of stretching this out, with an amazing pc to render it. (probably)

  • @Gbjujo

    @Gbjujo

    Richard Lionheart This was likely created using "PaulStretch" software or similar - which specialises in extreme audio file slowing such as this. This method cuts the sound up into little windows which are stretched individually and put back together in a special way with a technique called "spectral smoothing". You are right that normally when slowing a file this much you would incur various unpleasant audio distortions. Look up the software for more information.
