CL is one of the OG fashion girls in the k-industry. Since the 2ne1 days (before it became commonplace for idols to be brand ambassadors with 3rd/4th gen), CL has been somewhat of an insider in the industry and has close relationships to this day with a lot of big names in the fashion industry. She is known for always turning a look.

This guy with bandana on his face in 'The Baddest Female' is one and only TEDDY - CEO in THE BLACK LABEL (where Taeyang, Jeon Somi and Park Bogum are); he was producer for 2ne1, some of BIGBANG, GDRAGON's staff; and now he produce for BLACKPINK, TAEYANG, JEON SOMI. And "UNNIE" is in korean word that younger girl use to communicate with older close woman. And for me CL, JESSI and BIBI are absolutely queens in K-POP in solo staff (when it comes to rap) ♥

CL's album, Alpha, is such a good listen. It's definitely worth checking out all the songs on there.

CL is a never dying presence in this industry, I don’t think she gets even a 10% of the credit she deserves as an artist, but I do know that I have loved her for a long time and most likely would continue to do so

CL has connections to a lot of fashion houses and Haute Couture fashion houses. She's very well connected in the fashion world. Including independent designers. She's way ahead of her time, every time. CL and her sister Harin has so many connections in the fashion world worldwide. It's crazy. Even their close friends are designers.I appreciate their artistry. CL not only thinks about producing the music but she thinks about the fashion that should come along with the music. It's not about fancy kpop MVs with her. It's just her expressing her music with her style and I love that. 🍒

CL has a tonnn of friends in the fashion industry, specifically her best friend Jeremy Scott. shes very into fashion, and I dont know for sure but i think shes pretty involved in her styling. Some of the people in the Spicy MV were are from the fashion industry. The opening narration of Spicy was done by her friend/fan actor John Malkovich and he was also the statue. As you saw she had GD/Taeyang and YG producer Teddy in the baddest female mv, which was released while she was in YG. so she clearly always loves to put her friends in her videos! she later left yg and has been living in america for a while to work on her music

At 14:59 where you said you didn't know the people alongside CL, I thought I would give some context :) The guy with green hair is Omega Sapien, a member of the Korean musical collective Balming Tiger (The group that RM did Sexy NUKIM with), the other two people are Sokodomo and Lil Cherry. There is a Spicy Remix with Omega Sapien, Lil cherry and sokodomo so its quite cool that they are also featured in the MV too!! Also, another thing in the Spicy song and MV, the male voice in the song is actually actor John Malkovich, the golden statue is actually him as well lol. He and CL are friends as they worked on a movie together once (how cool!). I hope you react to more CL, she is one of a kind, the alpha album in particular is just amazing :)

to add to this, she said she talked to him about having trouble coming up with lyrics for a new song so she sent him a sample and he sent back this audio of him just to help give her a starting point, neither of them expected that it would work so perfectly as is and CL loved it so much she just kept it! ♥

one of my best concerts was probably her set at 2021 HITC, her stage presence and crowd control is on another level. the years of experience definitely shone through (also not to mention these songs go crazy live)

She is one of the few artists that had a say in their group's fashion choices when she was under YG. She made connections with a lot of designers and she introduced a lot of styles that before then were not very popular in Korea and kpop in general. Even now she is a muse for some of them, so her solo stuff is always top-notch when it comes to fashion because she is the one picking but also her designer friends love to hook her up with amazing garments. She is never basic, she loves to make a statement with her fashion and music as well! In this house, we love Lee Chaelin!

My Queen!

I think in Lover Like Me that she is throwing shade at YGE and the promises they made about her solo career before leaving her in the dungeon for three years until her contract ran out. She frames it in the terms of a bad ex-boyfriend. Her first release as an independent artist in 2019 (In the name of love EP) included the tracks that she had recorded but YGE didn't release and she pointedly included the date when the finished song was given to the label for release - some going back as far as 2016! Basically after BLACKPINK debuted and was instantly successful, the two 2NE1 members who had re-signed with the company after the disbandment were not granted a new comeback until their contracts ended. So understandably there is a lot of bitterness there. Given the long reach of YG she wouldn't be able to release a straight out diss track so she's being more subtle.
