I feel like he never listened to the original. This is kinda just constant notes, without following the form. This song has distinct sections, and Dave picked specific grooves for each section. Nobody has to play those same grooves, but they do serve the song well. They follow the form. This performance, on the other hand, is just like "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOTESSSSS!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" It's like playing the living shit out of Rosanna or some classic song by the Beatles or something. At least wait until the end of the song to shred.

This. I can definitely respect his abilities but I do believe he went a bit “too live” here..

Dave's music is not easy to play....Dave is technical and melodic...this guy is not playing with the music...he's flashy but still needs some work on the dynamics and flow. Playing with a band doesn't mean solo over the music...😎🎶🙄🥁
