From what I have seen in both journey videos, what they learn is just how to wave their legs and arms. Go to a non belt factory taekwondo place. It will be worth switching.

The point of the belt system is the journey. It’s supposed to be long, hard, and meaningful. You should not get belts depending on your level; you earn them through actually doing stuff for them directly, each and every one. This kid is good for his age, yeah, but he shouldn’t be a back belt at his age. It looks like he went through less than five or so belts to get there, and he likely isn’t mature enough. I went through around 26 belts, and no matter what level I may have been, I worked for them. Especially my black belts. Sorry, but that kid didn’t even look like he worked hard for the black belt. Not a hint of sweat, nothing. I had to go through 5 hour long tests which took months to prepare for. It was hell, but at least I earned it. No hate, but this isn’t how belt ranking should work. I also just don’t think you should start out as a white belt at 4.

I Admire CJ For What He Has Accomplished At So Young An Age But: They Have Doing Those Children A Disservice By Giving Them A False Sense Of Security. Their Skills Are Not Correct And Would Not Be Very Effective In A Real Self Defense Situation.

Share chicken dont make me laugh, your comment is pathetic. So The thing that shows CJ’s not gonna survive 3 seconds in a street fight is 1. He has The wrong form 2. Wrong technique 3. He can’t kick properly 4. He can’t punch properly 5. He keeps waving his hands like he has no balance 6. Even if he did the forms correctly, what’s making a cross with his hands up in the air gonna do? 7. ITS YOU’RE FOR GODS SAKE 8. I wouldn’t consider him dancing training, sure it might improve his dancing skills but nothing else 9. He’s practically hitting his crotch with his nunchucks and that’s extremely dangerous. 10. He’s not flexible

Edit: just realised that he was wearing a poom belt and he is supposed to stay in that belt until he turns 15. After that grading, he is supposed to be in 1st/2nd Poom instead of Black Belt.
