According to Civivi “the damascus is real 110 layered damascus steel and its base material is forged by 10Cr15CoMoV and 9Cr18MoV according to the damascus manufacturer”. I actually prefer the button only Elementum design that locks the blade in the closed position but a button plus flipper tab is OK, with a good detent…so I just ordered this. Slightly over $85 at White Mountain with code. Great vid here as usual…many thanks.

Just bought this same setup this morning...Can't wait already. lol

I got one of these today as a gift . Same knife except the the scales are cf from unlocked composites and it looks amazing . I put it as my pic if anyone can see that small . Added the civivi ti clip , used two of the longer screws since the shorty didn’t reach . Action and weight are there but I m impressed how the scales and ti clip alone changed the knife visually . Brought it up a notch . Another lighter scaled civivi I tried was the praxis with that clear resin black cf and gold fleck . You have to try it . It’s like a praxis but the lighter handle is noticeable and it almost feels like a toy knife but the looks …with the ti clip addition , changes a regular praxis into something more refined .

I got mine in the mail today! I went with the wood scales version.

@@Mridgwell the detent is fine on mine. I like the design, but I do have a little bit of button stick. Not real bad, vert minor, but it's there. I had no stick on my Altus or Cogent.

I just pulled mine apart and polished the lock interface a tiny bit, it's helped, but would benefit from a bit more.

after a few months use, how does the wood hold up? does it absorb a lot of oils and such?

Just bought it too. Really interested in it. I carry a knife almost every single day and everywhere I go (that is purely because I like looking at knives and fidgetting with them: i am a knife appreciator and do not intend to use it as a self defense weapon). I will really enjoy looking at this knife that's for sure! I will certainly carry this knife a LOT too.

Nice knife. The detent on mine is weaker than the Altus or Cogent. Civivi probably made it that way so it could be flicked well with the fuller. The action is good.

You can fix most tools by grinding/remachining, and refreshing them. Been doing it for years

Got mine yesterday! Really like the build other than the clip. I wanted the wood handle and am happy with it however the clip has a slight wiggle to it. I removed the clip and dropped a drop of superglue into the 2 holes then super snugged up the screws. Still some wiggle….will live with it and track how it holds up. Recessing the clip would probably make this tiny issue disappear. Still….love the wood, warm to feel, looks fantastic.

That's a Civivi clip for you. I own three Civivis and they all have the clip mounted right on top of the scale. I think they don't have a cut out in the scale because it would look ugly on the show side where a clip isn't installed. There are many ways to mount clips that is better and more secure than what they are doing. I just wish they would do it right.

I need one of these, the Koubortia wood version to be specific! 👍🏻

I had the same exact sentiment!! I was laughing so hard. Easy mistake to make as a typo, but oh so funny when it happens lol.

How does the flipper feel? I'd think with out the lock bar detent it will feel loose, but I've never flipped a button lock.

Thanks for this disassembly. Just got mine today. The detent is a bit too light to be flipped satisfactorily. Looks like the spring pushing the button lock into the cone-shaped hole in the blade flat is the detent. Do you think if I expand the spring a little or get a heavier one that the detent will feel stronger?

Idk I got mine the other day it's complete garbage detent is junk the lock stick so bad if I use the fuller and a little rist it's hurts my thumb to unlock it it's worst lock stick I have ever seen on button lock it's a paper weight. I see you doing what I do with the one I got and your dosent have any lock stick idk if I got a dud or what or do they just send all u you tubers the best knifes cause they want everyone to buy them. I all most want to send you mine to do a review on one I got u never bye another civivi again thats how bad it is compleat junk I m so pissed off about it. I could have spent 90 bucks on something worth wild but I got paper weight.
