The English education act was passed in 1835 and it is correct answer according to book and you can check on google. So there is no mistake

Mam before Britishers came to India the literacy rate in North India was 97% and the South India literacy rate was 100% by guru kul which was producing too nice scientists, doctors,engineers,etc. And only because they wanted to make us slave they burn out all the gurukuls and gave us this slavery education system where even when we have to drink water we have to ask to teacher and it depends on teacher's mood that they will allow or not. So please don't say that India and Indians was illiterate because we was the most developed civilization in ancient time . Thank-you.
