Civil 3D 2018 New Feature: Introducing Relative Feature Lines - Pt. 2
Now that we’ve taken our first look “Relative Feature Lines”, we’ll try using them in a practical example. In this session we’ll use Relative feature lines to control the pavement grading of a proposed parking lot. This session represents part 2 of 2. You're very welcome! Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you sir for this great video. I'm in the process learning civil 3d and this is definitely one of the better videos I've seen!
Jeff, Thanks for all your work on these videos. Most of the CAD videos I find are really tough to get through... I am looking for parametric roadway layout. In the meantime I'll watch this.
Excelente explicación, es lo que andaba buscando
Your the best Jeff. Thanks!

Muito, mas muito obrigado mesmo! Gratidão Jeff
Thanks you
Is it possible to make an alignment height relative to a surface in the same way ? I’d like to do this same process but ensure the outer feature line is an alignment instead. Great video Jeff !
This is a great little demo. Does anyone have a link to the sample file? The only links I could find seem to be dead.
Thanks Jeff, your videos are great! I would like to know, your styles that you use, for example your corridor styles, featureline styles etc. (in your videos, they're typically prefixed 'ADSK'), are these autodesk defaults or are these your own custom styles. I would love to get hold of the styles and template packages you use.

Hi Johan, The styles I use in my sample drawings are one's I've created myself. I typically re-arrange things for each video to ensure the objects I'm working with are easy to see on screen.

@@JeffBartelsCAD Thanks for the reply. It would be great if you could make a basic styles package available to your viewers. I find the styles that I work with at the office always have some kind of issue. Would be great to build up new styles for myself based on your styles which look and work great.
Hi there. Usually I create my feature lines first and each one in different site and when I tried to do grading, an alert said: this feat line is not belong to this group. So how I can move them to the new group? Thanks
What if you had TBC elevations you were trying to tie your corridor into?
Nice
i have an important Question i have one parcel with two levels i want to make it happened with an with out retaining wall can you help me
How do you make the surface from Feature lines? Is it creating breaklines? Do you have a video on this? I've created mine but it seems not connecting to the surface as shown in the video. When I move my feature lines the surface does not update.

Add those feature lines to your surface as breaklines. Make sure your surface is updated as well
Por que Jeff no tienes estos vídeos en español 😭😭, sería bueno que un alma piadosa sacará subtítulos 😬
Is that surface relative to the existing ground?
I'm looking for a tutor to show me how to model a parking lot using grading creation tools
Hi Jeff, Looks like there are no corridor bowties around the sharp corners of your curb and gutters. What solves that?

Sub assemblies with fixed width parameters such as kerbs are automatically neatly shaped on corners like a mitre joint or picture frame. But I sometimes end up with bow ties trying to model a verge subassembly on the back of the kerb, which is frustrating. Currently working out a way to model grading without using grading tools as they are temperamental.

@@roberthampton1430 I still resort to feature lines and grading infills because of time constraints for each project. Wish there was an easier way to model carparks. 🤷
To say that it is perfect, it may still be too low. Thanks Bartels
