Civ 5 AI Only Timelapse: Islands of Fortune
Ойындар
39 civilizations, 13 islands, One winner. Conquer your island, expand your empire to others, become the strongest civ, yet you lost. Too many factors on this map can ruin any plans, but they also can give hope even when everything seems to fall apart. Indeed, Fortune is not always favorable, everyone who is spawned with Zulu on one island can confirm it, but when she turns to you, hit her right between the eyes and don't let go away, because every missed opportunity may be the last.

Turn 386: "Aah, Rome vs Greece, that's a classic match." 10 turns later: "Wait, where did Rome go?"

Rome decided to attack the northeast cities right after fighting Greece, while Greece decided to rest and build for a bit.
Damnnn I think that's the first time a civ win after losing it's captial...few can come back from that
Greece deserved that win for taking back its capital, good episode
Sooo many twists, empires rising and falling, beautiful.
Whoever said that if you lose your capital, you can't win? Greece obviously didn't care.
Nice one Greece, not often I root for them , but after recapturing their capital I had to.
Rip rome who stand strong but fall under a gangbang Rip Korea who stay in the corner and develop but not fast enough And rip Venice...you shall forever have a place in my heart
I knew that Greece had a really good chance of winning this when they started their island hop. They even managed to survive losing Athens. Rome's game was essentially done when they fought the Greeks. It destroyed their entire military capacity. All Greece had to do after that was mop everybody up before they got into conflict with Korea, and they pulled it off perfectly.

Wait a second, Greece was doing great but lose his capital. Then conquer a lot of city but got stopped by Rome, that did a nice job. Then all the world attack Rome and Alexander betrayed them all. Nice job Alexander, you are truly a nice guy. P.s: you should make a video in the earth map with all the civs and see what happens (don't know if others did this, but it should be really amazing)

@@mathiasberchtenbreiter8864 No doubt! I love this channel for how wildly things turn out
Goes to show how good Greece A.I. priorities are... one of the only civs without a relevant unique ability or unit.
In 1965, the Romans were a proud civilization, having just crushed the mighty Greek Empire and boasting the largest and most powerful army in the world. An empire across 5 islands, controlling 3 whole islands, they were the foremost power in the world. 1976, Rome the capital city is conquered. 1980, the Roman Empire has been crushed into what is now mockingly called the Roman Corridor. They are a minor civilization, exiled from their homeland and forced to pay homage to their former slaves. (Kudos for the Greeks, they were down many times, but they were never out!)
Wow. By turn 300, I was entirely prepared to congratulate Rome, showing that the first civ to unite their home island would win the game, using Greece as an example of what happened to those civs who were unable to unite theirs. I wasn't expecting this comeback, and it can only be attributed to Alexander's sheer tenacity. Nike!

I noticed something as that war happened: it appeared to me as if Rome's military was completely decimated by the conflict with Greece, while the Greek army was still formidable. I knew then that it was Alexander's game to lose, and he crushed all of his opponents when he got the chance.
This Game was full of Chaos, you couldn’t say who would win until the end. But Alexander did really well, lost his capital and got pushed my romans. Also Korea did a very nice job. I think its one of the most interesting AI battles you ever made. Keep Spirit dude!!!

Everything happened so logically, it was like players were playing the game and choosing carefully who they attack while some form coalitions and go all the way in destroying that 1 enemy.
My hopes rose to unprecedented heights... only to be dashed once more.
C'mon Korea, please win for once. You did well this time tho

They shot themselves hard in the beginning by killing Istanbul but not taking it, then having the Songhai stealing it from them.
I mean...I was betting on Greece...but I didn't think it was going to go down like that. Wow.
Greece: Doesn't build walls, doesn't unite home Island... Also Greece: Extended BM.
Is Greece the first to come back from losing their capital?

This is incredible. Just wow.
I just want to point out that America did finally win their match long stalemate against the Mongols before also falling. Yes with Korean help, but America did briefly have Karakorum.
Ha! Guess I shouldn't be too surprised Alexander pulled a victory, he is one of the strongest AI's after all, a very interesting game.
So Greece had to twice come back against the Romans, first the Eastern Romans, then the Western Romans...okay the regular Romans. Jeez, I was really looking forward to a late game Gandhi nuclear rampage as well.

I know Civs gonna get fucked when Koreans start building Turtle Ships.
Jesus, I wasn't paying attention to the right side of the map for a bit and all the sudden a wave of cities just get conquered by Greece.
In these kinds of maps its: first to battleships wins..
for once the civ that got an early lead actually won it
Although Greece won, let's not forget some highlights of other civs. Rome was once the largest empire, but then buckled under a Korean, Carthaginian, Indian and Arab coalition. The Zulus have conquered a respectable empire, but eventually lost to the Greeks. Korea was just great, being arguably Greece's main rival in this entire game. India and Arabia build considerable, albeit short-lived, late-game empires. Carthage, although small for the entire game, fought valiantly against all opponents, though it inevitably fell in the end. Mongolia and America just continued fighting on their island for a long time. Austria, Russia and Venice were pretty powerful in the early game, but, eventually, Ausria lost a city to Greece, eventually being gobbled up by it, Venice was partitioned between Indonesia and Russia, while Russia was partitioned between Arabia and the Zulus. And Indonesia? Indonesia had its best Civ AI Domination Match ever, taking a city from Venice and two from Arabia before being betrayed by the ever-expanding Greeks.

Yea Rome was really shaping up to be the top dog this game, taking out Spain (its only major rival nearby with a comparable fleet) and beating Greece in a couple war. That coalition though... brutal.

I thought the same. Those archers, mate...
This is an excellent Civ 5 AI experiment, but you’d produce very valuable results if you ran this Ai vs Ai game at least 10 times with same start locations and same map each time. Then write down final scores for each victory and who were the victors. You could get actually helpful stats a bit which civ is winning more often and with what score. Of course the more Civs in the simulation the more simulations you’d have to run to get statistically significant average results.
@AeonQuasar
5 жыл бұрын
I think this was more a luck result for Greece. There are many factors that would change the outcome. I don't think you see a true outcome with only 10 matches. You need to touch the 100 at least for that to have any significantly meaning. 10 games would have resulted in 9-10 different winners.

I feel like you're missing the point of these videos. This isn't about finding out which Civs are statistically superior. This is entertainment. I have no doubt that AiBattle runs every map several times. Else there would be no chance that the battles were always so equal (Civ 5 has a bad habit of producing one Ai that slowly trumps the rest with little difficulty) Watching the same battle 10 times, however, is the opposite of fun. No one would be watching this channel, perhaps with the exception of you, if it were only rehashes of the same map and civilizations.
As always, a great video !

Korea was trying to take out the Ottomans in the beginning, but the warriors were blocked off by their own archers...
Good job my friends
5:06 London ist gefallen!
Rome destroyed Greece in a decisive war only to fall after that. Greece would go on to recover, and win the game after a bad setback. Also Greece lost its capital very early in the game, it wasn’t under their control for a long time.
Does this mean all men will have big white beards and be philosophers?
