I guess he told his team to survive that and then take their chances of stealing it by exploiting gaps that would emerge as City chase goals Yep had to have a good think about the game. My insist was to say Madrid rode their luck. Ancelotti took from their previous season Hammering by trying to prevent City playing for the first 20 minutes. My problem is that if City scored people would have piled praise on City. As it stands this reminded me of Palace vs Liverpool. City hit the bar from a mistake and scored from a mistake whereas Madrid exploited a long kick to score a quality goal holding on to the lead using a great defensive display. If people get a chance listen to 20 year old Bellingham post match. His level of insight was above majority of English pundits. Evidently he and others thought through and played much of the game in their heads. He was later praised for his endless running. Even Ancelotti said he knew his team would have to "suffer" today so here's my thinking... Unlike the 4-0 last season where Madrid were shell shocked , he not only came to concede possession but expected his team to hang in there. Created about three chances and gave much needed control that Kroos eventually struggled to provided however Surprisingly Mendy was my MOTM . CARVAHAL played a tough game so credit but for me , once Madrid adjusted to cover the right , he ensured nothing came down his side and thus limited City to a more predictable attack. With it only coming in from the left, and with Silva being restricted to cutting un on a weak angle, Madrid could afford - and expect - go absorb pressure knowing it wasn't really dangerous. City probed ambulance didn't penetrate. There was not one single chance I thought was major outside KDB over the bar. Not a Ancelotti masterclass but he did give them the Blueprint needed to win - the champion mentality.

didn't stop running the whole 120 and then scored his pen. Big Game Player. ppl saying he ghosted never watched the game. He was all over the pitch
why is jude here?? it should be Rudiger The Warrior! That Man was a Steel Fortress, they just couldn't string the final pass around him, they couldnt get pass him. Man shutting down wave after wave of attacks for a gruelling, relentless 120 mins straight! Such strength, such power, such endurance, such speed. Even Haaland struggled against him, got substituted. Grealish failed against him, got substituted. Even Doku's shot couldnt get pass him. Pep knew he had a big problem with Rudiger shutting down everything, scratching his head repeatedly, wiping his face non-stop. He knew that is the one man that is gonna disrupt his gameplan. It took a double team up of Doku+De Bruyne to finally get a shot into the goal. But even then, look at the audacity, the bravery, the courage of the man. Stepping up to take the final penalty shootout, with such tremendous pressure on his shoulders and scoring it like a season striker. Give it up for Rudiger! Man Of The Match Bar None! Extraordinary Performance! A Collossus of a Defender! Chelsea made a huge mistake letting him go, not paying him what he's really worth.

It’s like he got a second wind or something and he started pushing the other players to increase the intensity and pace of the game, hence Real did so well in the second half of extra time His mental fortitude is ridiculous. Even in the penalties he single-handedly turned the momentum after the Modric miss. He came in so sure of himself and so confident I told my friend that there is no way this guy is going to miss and he didn’t And then he urged the small Madrid fan base to sing louder and encouraged his teammates when he got back. City played better. Lol 😂 all four of city’s goals were individual brilliance and one defensive error from Rudiger that allowed KDB to capitalise. On the other hand, real’s all four goals were team effort and a defensive masterclass in second leg at Ethihad. Coty with all their might couldn’t penetrate Mendy, Carvajal, Rudiger and Nacho.
