Oh man...I've had some brutal flights when I had a cold like that. The butterfly clips are so cool, glad you kept going even while sick!

Yikes! Well you'll have to wait and see if I actually managed the flight 🙈 The amount of butterflies in the garden was a welcome treat. They were EVERYWHERE and great fun to film!

@@DOUGandNIKI They are pretty! I get a tad creeped out when I'm too close or if one is inside with me. I'm terrified of moths and butterflies are sometimes a little too similar 🙈

Almost all the cities, towns or neighborhoods of Tenerife have their charm. Some more than others. From Santa Cruz, passing through Puerto de La Cruz. But the ones I like the most are the ones that still retain their initial essence. Those whose architectural heritage remains intact, and of those we find the three most important to me: La Laguna (of course), La Orotova, Garachico and Icod de Los Vinos.

@@ignacioacosta5345 That's a great list! I've only seen La Laguna of those cities so I think I need to have a city tour when I'm next on the island! I had a quick google to look at images and my they do look gorgeous!

Always sucks when you get ill on a trip, especially when you have to cancel things... Haha that's an expensive ham - hope it was good! Looks like a beautiful city, had no idea it was UNESCO. Great to see yet another side to Tenerife!

The ham was SO worth it. Especially in the year 2020. Sometimes an indulgence is required 😝

I loved the way you introduced yourself and the video! The effect of the typing machine was so nice!!! Which editing program did yo use to do it? I lived in Spain for a while and I can clearly tell you Spanish have a great knowledge talking about ham... it's not that crazy the price you paid for some quality ham. You could have spent also much more, trust me!!! :) I am sure it was good :D

I used Final Cut Pro to create the typewriter effect. I just split the text into a sections of a few frames each and added another letter in each one. So I created it manually but it only took a few minutes. I then inserted a typewriter sound effect from Epidemic Sound. Very easy but it did the job well :) Hahaha I knew Iberico ham was expensive as I normally get it in restaurants but I guess I didn't expect him to purchase SO much of it. I have never spent €50 in one go for ham so it was a shock but it was so worth it as it tasted amazing ;)

It's tough when one feels sick during a trip. The cathedral is very beautiful and the restaurant is nice.

Yeah, it wasn't ideal to be unwell. I also thought the Cathedral was beautiful!

It´s always unpleasant to become ill when travelling. I experienced that once and I felt terrible :-). I enjoyed your introduction a lot with many beautiful slow motion shots of nature and also during the video. The cathedral looked really imposing.

What to say about you and your creations Ella?.I literally have a wonderful feeling like travelling to the destination when i watch your videos every time. That's amazing. Have you had a beer 🍺 when you caught cold?ha ha 😂. Keep going Ella 👍

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Louis did well in spending €50 on a ham :O That is a lot of money. I love those local bakery stores btw! And good to see that in the end you got better to explore the historical city center of San Cristobal de La Laguna. €5 is btw a fair entry to the cathedral.

I thought €5 was fair too but when I looked on Tripadvisor for reviews there were so many people like "so expensive!" which made me think maybe I was in the minority thinking the fare was good. Entrance fees normally go go towards preserving the Cathedral which I'm sure is quite expensive to maintain.

Oh no I’m sorry you were sick on your trip especially with your ear drums. But I’m sure it was nice to relax. The cathedral was beautifully designed. And the inside was spectacular! Thank you for sharing this experience. Oh and I didn’t realize Tenerife was that big as it seems everyone always goes to the same area.

I think I have narrow ear canals which makes things like this all the more painful 🙈 Yes, Tenerife is a pretty big island. There's so much to see outside of the main tourist areas :)

Very cool butterflies slow-mo! Wayne is the same way, he can't hardly bear to sit still, especially when traveling! We were so sick though at one point in Bulgaria, we only explored a half day and then crashed at the Airbnb. Expensive ham--we have never tasted it before. Cool ceiling in the cathedral! How was lunch?

Oh no, that's so annoying that you were ill! Do you know what was wrong? Iberico ham is expensive but definitely worth trying if you are ever in Spain. The lunch was OK. The staff were a little cold which made the experience not as great. It was the only meal where I wasn't too sure about the place we chose to eat at.

Gotcha. We have had a few of those before too, unfortunately. April had a cold before we left, but did her darnedest to get better before we left. She was mostly better but not 100%. Then traveling and her cooties 😂 did me in and then she got sick again. It was two of the worst colds (we think?) that we have ever had in our lives!

It was no fun at all being ill :( Yeah I love the colour of the cathedral too.

It's horrible when you get ill abroad! Shame you had to cancel the wine tasting. Wow that Iberic ham must have been excellent for that price! The inside of the cathedral is stunning, we loved the pattern of the floor.

I appreciate your feedback. This part of a 5 part series and the illness is a big part of it. I don't make 'best things to do' videos but rather tell a story. I could easily gloss over the negative parts of travel but that wouldn't feel right. This channel is about raw, real experiences and not a highlight reel. But there are plenty of other vloggers who do pick out the best bits so I'm sure you'll be able to find what you're looking for :)
