Yup. Just have to say no sometimes. My husband discovered who his biological father was recently and naturally he wanted to have like 6 siblings and spouses and kids etc come over...well they all came over, ended up going through my fridge to take beer home with them, told us they were just going to spend the night, made noise all night- i had to work at 8am and they were so loud and rude...no manners- get me get me get me - no please- thank you- u know...that was last time they came over. Sorry! If things get worse they would be the first ones knocking and mooching. No thank you. No Koombayah for me. My door is shut.

Funny how some beggars choose to bite the hand that feeds them, it’s truly a demonic force controlling them. I used to valet in the middle of Detroit, MI and there was always this one black man who would walk by every night i worked and politely ask if i wanted to buy his rosaries, as that was his hustle. I figured hey, better than scamming people or selling drugs, so i did. The next night, he came by and asked again. I reminded him im here to make money, just like him, but I’ll humor ya and buy one more again. THE NEXT DAY, he came by again and when I said no he started cursing me out telling me im racist etc and stormed off. He then mean mugged me every time i saw him bc i turned him down after giving him money two times in a row and not the third. This is very common behavior among homeless Americans, thugs in the ghetto and among certain demographics who were raised without a father. If I had to do it again, I would’ve simply smiled at him the first time and told him to keep it moving. Too many people don’t know how to react to kindness and only know how to get theirs… depraved world we’re in.

Incredible story. Most modern western people do not realize just how quickly the rules of the jungle can become reality. Thankfully your neighbors were nearby and established sufficient deterrence to avoid a tragedy. I'm 67 this month, and have studied survival situations for many years. I have always said, if you feed one, they will soon consider you their food source. And then they will tell others, and soon the word spreads you have food to share. And another thing, you ay have a neighbor, friend, or the stranger coming to your door. They in life may be a person that will give you the shirt off of their back, and even risk their life for you. But if they have children who are starving, and you have food, they will take your food, at whatever the cost. Having a couple years of preps hidden in areas outside of your home is a great idea, and if you need something, you go dig it up at night.

Thank you for this content. I subscribed long ago and have listened very carefully to your experiences. I met a pig farmer (and other animals) originally from Romania who said I could trade with him if the time comes. Unfortunately, I don’t remember where it was. I was drinking too much at that time. I’m sober now, three years. Hopefully I won’t need his help in the future because of a sharp devaluation of our currency, or something else bad. Anyway, thank you again. This is an extremely valuable channel.

I've been hungry before...no, I was starving. The longest I had to endure without food and only plain water was about 10 days. I think I still had the diary where I write in it every day of my thoughts just to keep my mind off the starvation. Looking back...I was close to madness and obsessed with what I found later scientist called food porn, thinking about food I could eat and weird way how I would eat them. I can barely sleep, my mind strangely focused and contrary to logic I felt energized like ready to pounce and tear things to sate my hunger. The short of it hungry/starving people are dangerous and near illogical to deal with common sense. With that kind of mentality, things will not turn out well if you are not confrontational and protective. If you want to do charity, first look at the situation first and what outcome it will do to your own family. Charity is to aid the needy, not feed a pack of wild ungrateful hyenas. Sorry for using that word, but that are what mobs like that are, they could be less than animals themselves.

You can only survive 3 days without water but 3 weeks without food. Most bodies are adapted to the disastrous food industry today that’s why you were hallucinating about food. If you have the right natural food intake the hunger feeling is NOT there. I know because I am NEVER hungry or longing for food because the food I eat is healthy and of top of that I only eat 2 times a day.

This is one of the many scenarios that the prepping community has dissected. Most of us want to be compassionate and help those less fortunate but sometimes it ends being detrimental to ourselves. Especially when people are really starving and haven't eaten for a week or more. Let's play out a variation. Real serious SHTF has arrived. People are desperate. People are starving. A pretty young woman ends up at your door. Her face is dirty and her clothes are torn but underneath you can tell she's a beauty. She looks like she's starving. She has a baby in her arms and she's begging you for food for the baby. Not even so much for herself but for the baby. The baby's crying. Tears are streaming down her face. What do you do? Is she on the up and up and is what she says she is. A woman alone. Desperate. Willing to do anything to save her child. Just remember. A mother will do ANYTHING for her child. OR, is she a scout for a larger gang waiting down the street for her to confirm those people that still have food left. Even if this isn't a ruse on her part and all she wants is food for her child and you give a little for her and the child what's to say that she isn't part of a larger family just wanting to survive. She goes away. Tells her family she's found someone that still has food. They come back later when you're asleep. Kick down your door and steal as much from you as they can. No matter what you decide to do it looks like a no win situation for you. Either her family gets you or her gang gets you. Both undesirable outcomes. I fear that in the future many of us will be forced to make some very difficult decisions. To give or not to give. That is the question. Will our acts of compassion end up getting us killed for a bag of rice and a few cans of beans? And will we be able to live with the consequences of our actions?
