City of Buena Park recycling cart rollout!

After hearing a while back that Buena Park was going to have a recycling cart rollout, I was extremely excited at the thought of going to film it. Luckily I was able to do just that! This week, Daniel and I headed to Buena Park and found this rollout crew rolling out Toters! In short, EDCO contracted with Toter to purchase and rollout carts for the whole city, so Toter sent out one of their crews with a few rental trucks to get all of the carts handed out along with information about the new program. From now on, all trash will still be going to CR&R for sorting but now recycling will be sorted separately to increase diversion rates. Overall, it was super exciting to film my first rollout video! Thanks to the friendly crew for allowing us to film and to all the people at EDCO for being so nice in answering our questions about the new program!

I noticed the guy on the back of the truck was wearing a Republic vest lol. Kinda crazy that Buena Park is just now starting a recycle program. Hope it works out for the city long-term. Great video!

Cool! Too bad they are giving out toters though. Nice they are FINALLY switching to a recycling program!

Lol. Personally I think that toters are great to rollout, because they are nestable, meaning that they can be stacked with the lids and wheels attached. And yes, I think that it is about time that they start recycling.

Those toter bins last longer than husky bins.
San Diego has bot lots of these new trash cans over the year and also new trucks from diesel to CNG but I'm sure that burno park disposal has new trucks too!!!!!

Yes indeed. They are only rolling out recycling, not taking cans away.

Nice job always cool to see roll outs nice someone filmed a manufacture rollingrolling out the carts so are they just starting a recycle program?

Thanks! Yes, they were previously on a 2 stream program with mixed waste in the grey and green waste in the green. The mixed waste was then sent to a dirty MRF to be sorted. So yes, they are just starting a recycling program.

Southern California Refuse Trucks no more mixing trash bins.
I remember having the recycling bins at La Palma for 5 years ago, while I have the gray trash and green waste bins 3 years ago.
