I'm from Chicago and remember that when I was a teenager. I moved to NYC 10 years ago and the scene is still thriving here. It had pretty much died in Chicago. Zentra, Smart Bar, Berlin, Boom Boom Room - not the Green Dolphin bullshit, were all dying off or dead.
