This is gold. Imagine a premiership board nowadays interviewing a manager in front of cameras. It just wouldn't happen!

I first saw John Bond at Maine Road as a full-back when he played for West Ham c.1961 - an old mucka of Malc's. Now he was back as Manager of City with John Benson (an ex-City player) as assistant. Initially he did well, and got us to the Cenetenary Cup-Final. Like most Managers though, his reign ultimately ended in failure. Cannot believe this is nearly thirty years ago! Blimey!! Thaks for posting.

Interesting to see David Davies, then at the BBC and later chief executive of the FA, on the left of some of the opening shots outside the ground. And altogether an excellent documentary which I remember watching when it was screened nearly 30 years ago.

he was a good manager- it was roundabout the time i went regularly. Managers would get away with talking to today's primadonna footballers like that !
