The idea of public participation in debt contractions is great. Going forward let all Kenyans know and approve what is being borrowed, terms and conditions and intended use.

While we're @70% debt to GDP, the president doesn't seem to think of this as critical, at least based on his misguided tribal expenditure, & lack of respect for constitutional offices.

We cant continue to pay a debt that isn't decreasing but seems to increase every financial year. And politicians going from stealing taxes to stealing debt is a sickening middle finger by those given the mandate of heaven to rule.

Instead of a national taskforce to audit public debt. Why not a town hall where the central governor, national treasury cs, auditor general and controller of budeget come together to explain to Kenyans what is going on

The task proposed by president Ruto is just wasting time and tax payers. Money So President Ruto must begin actions to propel the country into the right direction by acting through kenyan constitution.

President Ruto after borrowing they spent the the borrowed money as if it's going to pay from their pockets but truly speaking is the tax payers money it's used to pay the debts.

@@86wasaown up to what, paying taxes and seeing little to nothing in value?? Borrowing in Kenyans’ name right into the pockets of politicians?? This dude and company were there during the last decade of the borrowing that has now brought the chickens home so YES to blaming Ruto. That said, Kenyans that just a few months ago used to brag about how they woke up early to vote for Ruto share some blame for the current crisis, but maybe it was a blessing in disguise for awakening this moment of reckoning.

Why is this government so scared of a credible audit of its debt profile? Instead of a task force why not staff the auditor general’s office with additional auditors? It looks like the current government may have inherited the same tactics that led us into this debt trap!

Kenya debts are over exaggerated figures, the reasoning net figured must be agreed upon, public can't be engaged in balling out looters in the names of leaders, we must know exactly what we are paying, & what really the borrowed really used or looted.
