I remember listening to this and for me it hit me personally. I remember when my mother and my aunt were in front of me crying because at the time I had told them that my biological father molested me. I did not cry. I just stood there as they hugged me and balled their eyes out. There was another instance. When I attempted to take my life, I remember sittting in the ambulance and watching my mother pull up and run to me crying, scared of what could have happened. I know I have something wrong with me emotionally ever since my childhood. My therapist says its PTSD. I also am losing memories of when I was in high school, I am only 24. I shouldn't be having memory issues. Well turns out that my great grandpa had alzhiemers. My grandmother has it now. It doesn't help that I have trauma from childhood. I am starting to find it hard to have any interactions with others. I didn't even cry when my uncle passed away in a different state. But I cry when I can't save a foster kitten. It makes no sense. Citizen Soldier has helped me through another difficult situation. Their songs feel so personal. You should listen to "This Is Your Sign" by Citizen Soldier. Its a good listen and quite uplifting at the end

I remember the first time hearing this i was in a really dark place and as i nearly attempted taking my own life on the bathroom floor at college and my favourite teacher came in and saw a blade in my hand and managed to talk me out of it and then she said to listen to music and i thought it would not help but it did and I broke down in tears cuz I felt less alone and citizen soilder has put a purpose to my life i still struggle so much with Trauma/ PTSD/ DID/BPD and college is really tough im only 17 (English school system) and I'm already literally fighting for my life but i have been 7 months clean of attempting and 5-6 weeks clean of self harm and im really proud of myself!

I love this song and the song especially the ending part does a good job at showcasing their vocals without trying to overshadow the other

That was really really great. Not everything Citizen Soldier does connects with me, but this hit home I think because its short, sweet, and to the point. And I know Citizen Soldier has their struggles, as does Addie. So maybe the biggest reason it works is its just 100 percent real. Great reaction

If I remember correctly, many songs are based on the lead singer's patient's stories. He's a therapist for context. So it makes sense we relate to some but not all.

@@DracoJ I know and a lot of his newer songs have that to draw inspiration from. I know his motivation before he was a therapist was trying to help people with their own problems as I know he said back in the mid 2010’s he attempted to unalive himself and since then he formed the band, has a family and became a licensed therapist. Not bad for a second chance at life I’d say

@luciferpetrenkoff5040 that's a really interesting backstory for the band. I only knew the therapist part. Thank you.
