When I was six, my daddy died. It was sudden, out of nowhere. He never told my mom that he had heart trouble, so she didn't know until she had to call the ambulance a few minutes before me and my little sister got back from school. We were getting off the bus as they were putting him in the ambulance. He would've lived if they had found the medicine they needed, but something happened and it was gone. He was gone. Before I ever got to know him, he was gone. That left me with anxiety so severe that I can't even talk to someone without thinking about what would happen if they just died one day. That's one of my greatest fears and the cause of most of my panic attacks. I've spent full nights from ten PM to seven AM having one long, continuous panic attack being terrified that my mom and my sisters would be gone when I got out of bed the next morning. This song pretty much describes what I feel in some of my attacks. Thank you so much for making it, and thank you for bothering to read your comments, even if you don't get to mine. I love you guys

Sorry about your dad, if it makes you feel any better, my grandpa died when I was ten and I remember every single detail of the last day I saw him alive and that was the day before he died, that probably doesn’t help but sorry and I hope your doing better,also sorry if that was confusing

I said "Yeah, I've done a lot of good, I would be remembered well. Maybe missed." And then I asked, "So why stop now?" No matter how empty life feels, no matter how *pointless,* you have to ask yourself, "why stop now?" If life feels empty, you're looking at it from the wrong perspective, I assure you. I'm not stopping now. I will not give up, or give in. To stop now is to spit in the face of all the effort, all of the struggles I've survived to make it this far.

I’m in a mental state house due to a suicide attempt and I only have my phone 1h every day and I spend this hour listening to your guys’ music because it simply gives me hope. I saw this song now and I’m just speechless. This song gives me goosebumps, I love it so much and it really makes me wanna push trough this time and do something productive ones I’m out of here. Every person has a story, some are about love and loss, some are of pain and anguish, and some are too dark to tell. You guys have kept me alive more than you know so thank you for the music and the way you interact with your fans. It gives me a little hope that maybe just maybe I can overcome what has been done to me.

Been here since the first album. Every song you guys made are fire, and extremely uplifting. Saved me a few times from the edge. Unfortunately, as much as I want to see you guys live, I can’t. One, because I’m still a student and two, because I’m from the Philippines and so, I’ll support you using itunes, and buying your merch. Small price to pay for being saved. Also, I’m still hoping for a drum cam, no rush, I can wait.

Why do you guys always seem to make me cry? 😢😭❤️💔 I have a difficult time being mindful and living in the moment, I spend so much time hearing my therapists tell me I need to practice it more... I know I do, I’m doing my best. Depression and anxiety are such demons trying to pull me down constantly, especially during these times... But this song, man... No words. It really just gives me that tough love to remember to embrace the present and my wonderful family, just really appreciate them and love them while they’re all here... I love them more than words could ever express... I don’t know how I could live without my mom especially, she’s my absolute everything. My rock. I argue with her and take her for granted way too often and I need to quit that. She’s incredible and so strong willed it’s crazy. Thank you so much for this beautiful, magnificent song, as always... I called my mom right after leaving that comment, crying my heart out, and let her know how much she deeply and truly means to me... it meant so, so much to her and she told me that since I told her how much I appreciate her she’s been feeling so happy and really worth something. That just warmed my heart so much. I’m so glad I was able to provide such happiness and security to her by letting her know I really do love her more than words could ever describe. I don't know if anyone will read this but I just wanna share it and continue listening to this amazing song. I was always bullied by people around me. For some reason, no one tried to be friends with me, or talk to me like I'm a normal person. I was always lonely and developed anxiety and depression throughout my life, feeling useless, worthless, nothing but someone who doesn't deserve to live and feeling like I'm disappointing even the people that doesn't know me. I don't know what Am I living for, why do I continue and why was I born in the first place? I feel like my place isn't here, that I'm not worth to even breath but when I think of dying, leaving everything behind, I'm scared. I'm scared of making my family suffer when it's all my fault I feel like this. Truth is, no one wants to die for real, we just want to feel happy, just a little time when we don't have to worry about every little thing, when we don't have to cry and feel guilty, when we would smile and be happy. We just want everything to be over, either the loss of someone or the feeling of being wortless because the people around you don't care at all, we all have scars we just can't forget. I always thought I'm alone, but I see so many people sharing stories and realize I'm not the only one and maybe I'm not someone who can say this but just... don't give up. Even if you feel like there is no tomorrow, like your world is crashing down and you have no place to hide, there are always better times and a good future that is waiting for you, you just have to be strong and face the world, cry if you want, do things that at least used to give you happiness and find someone to listen to you. It's always gonna be something for you, so... Believe in yourself, in the person you are and try to love yourself! ❤ I may not know you, but I love you, I know you're a strong person, a kind and amazing person and can do everything you dream for!

Yo citizen soldier, thank you for helping me through hard times. Even with a train of bad luck that hits me every day. I just pop on my headphones and listen to you guys. I tend to dwell in the past and the shit I've done. But nowadays, it feel like an endless cycle I feel as if I can escape. I don't like asking for help because I HATE to burden others, but I'm the one who always takes the burden from others. I'm always volunteering for stuff on my own free will, so I help draw my mind away from those memories. That's one reason why I play video games. It helps keep my mind off of the bad memories, and the good ones too. I've commented on your pieces music video so you have a good general idea of what I don't want to remember sometimes. Thank you for making good music to help people get through hard times. I haven't seen the light at the end of the tunnel yet, but I believe it's there waiting for me.

Your music is somehow a mix of depressing and inspiring. It's a huge gift to be able to do that, great song! 10/10

So, this is my first ever time listening to something by Citizen Soldier, and I have to say... wow. This couldn't have been better timing! This last month has been rough for me, medically. I have a lot of anxiety towards my health right now, with a real potential of something being really wrong with me. I have to go for tests, but because of the pandemic, they've been delayed by a month (even with me at the top of the list). During this last year, I've finally learned to let go of the past (I hope!), but in the last month, I've found myself consumed by the future. And while I've been trying to be mindful of the present, this song was definitely a wake-up call for me! I don't know what will happen when I get my tests done. Maybe my life will go back to normal. Maybe it will change forever. But right now, I've been gifted this precious present moment. And I don't want to take that for granted any longer! So thank you for this song and this reminder that life is, indeed, precious.

Citizen soldier is one of the best artists i know and i only discovered your music 2 weeks ago. But it holds more meaning than almost every somg released by most artists these days. You guys are one of the best in my books. Real meaning goes into your songs. Meaning i relate to on more levels than im willing to admit. Unfortunate part is that most will never understand until they loose someone close. Like myself, I always understood the lyrics and tried to treasure each moment- but after I lost my grandmother the feeling changed so drastically.

Oh. my. God. You guys seriously made me shed a tear. I am the youngest of my siblings (nearly 17yo) and my parents are both near their 60s. The line about not taking who I love for granted, because I might regret it really hit me hard. Lately I have been thinking about my future, about the inevitable death of both of them, and about the time I wasted (and still waste) arguing about small things and not caring enough. And the worst thing? I can't change it, it's almost like my daily routine. And I am really lucky, because my mom might be strict, sometimes annoying, but neither her or my dad EVER hit me for something I've done, nor did they give me any punishment that outgrown what I did. And maybe the fact that my mom almost never lets me visit any of my friend's house seems like a bad thing, but thanks to that I don't feel the effects of this quarantine. Oh Lord, that was quite a confession. I really love that song, it has a POWERFUL message an great sound to support it. I will have it in every single playlist. Love you guys and can't wait for more 🖤

Ik how you feel. My mom's 59, my dad's 65, and I'm 22. It feels awful to see the year pile on and know they'll likely be gone before I even have a chance to pay them back for raising me.

I feel the same way in my own life. My parents are reaching their 80s and I just hit 31this year. I've had a rocky relationship with them for as far back as high school. I moved out only two years ago (not for lack of trying, mind you) and I find myself thinking of them a lot, calling them and keeping them up to date on all the little things in my life. I frequently look back and wish that I'd cherished my youth more, especially my parents, and how crappy of a kid I was. All I can do now is move forward and remember my past mistakes, and enjoy my time with them now that we've finally started healing all our old wounds.

You are lucky because your both mom and dad are alive, but my only mom is alive and she is 65, I am afraid of losing her 😣

You know, I found you guys during a rough time in my life. I had put my dog, Sue to sleep on Christmas Eve in 2021 and was rather depressed. Add to that my cat, Loki had to be put down because she was really sick thanks to a brand of flea collar and well... I don't think I need to elaborate. So, thanks for being a band that I can listen to and be happy remembering the time I had with those two. Seriously.

Finally i was waiting for this i knew this song was gonna be great but i didnt except it to actually be so relatable thank you for making this song and making our days better one song at a time🖤❤

This song is a straight banger! And speaks the truth. My grandma passed away on friday april 3rd of this year after a 2 year battle with lung cancer. Though our current situation sucks I'm glad it enabled me to spend time with her that I wasn't able to the last few years due to my work schedule. The only thing I wish is that I was there when she died but unfortunately I was at work because I didn't expect her to leave so soon. At least she knew I loved her.

Now this song truly is real for me. Time is sacred. For those who read this, cherish and spend time with your loved ones. You never know when they will be gone. I'm facing that reality now. So many things I wish i had done had I known my grandfather was going to pass away on Monday.

This song contains way too much truth and it hurts. Despite the fact that you're working towards something, and you've gotta endure the temporary setting you're living in...You're investing that time. But will that invested time be worth it; or will it be another project that you're working on that will gets lost among the others. Figuring out the path that you want to take and be sure of it..It's just so difficult. Thank you for another pearl.
