This had some water intrusion at some point cuz the analog portion was seized. I chipped off the corrosion and cleaned well and now it seems to be running pretty good.

Most if the time i skip them, but these promaster are really nice and serviceable

Check out @nekkidwatchmaker , he does a Citizen with what looks like thousands of pieces. It'll give you anxiety, haha

I didn't have to replace any parts, so it's basically the cost of time
19:01 i noticed after you fitted the new battery...it refused to boot up until you bridged out a copper contact to the body/case or earth point ??

Yes, some quartz need to be shorted to started up. Like when you shake a manual watch to get the balance moving. Some are marked, some are not. Some aren't even marked where to short, so I'll hit all the open points, haha. I'm not a quartz expert and i may be wrong about how I understand it. If anyone else knows better, please chime in!

@@ddaavvee im guessing there's a lot of watches getting sold on ebay as "for parts or not working" cos the owner tried fitting a new battery but didn't know this trick....& i certainly didn't know either 👍

@@lancecooper4646 i can't say this is going to be true for all, but I've purchased a few "duds" that worked perfectly with a proper battery swap.
