Citizen JP2000 aqualand promaster

Citizen JP2000-08e I just had to have, looks insane cool. I know it’s not for everyone, and that’s ok.

I got it two years ago and as I work as a Dive Instructor, I have it every day multiple times in the sea, and it never let me down. A huge thumbs up for this watch, for me it is one of the iconic Citizen Dive Watches ever.

I got this watch when it first came out in the early-mid 1980s. Still have it. It is a fantastic watch with easy to change batteries and O-ring seal. The sensor is a bit big and ungainly but in Italy this watch was for many years not only a trendy and macho watch to wear on sea people (ideally on sporty or muscular wrists and forearms) but also a fashion accessory for girls to wear, loose like a bangle, and today - almost 40 years later - I still see them worn in southern Italy by both men and women. I have also most if not all of the later models. I was a diving instructor in Italy and very avid snorkeller so have most of not all of the later models of this Aqualand watch too - most of which had significantly smaller sensors, but these all have one big problem which this first model here did not have - they beep if you come up too quickly. This is great when you scuba dive as a warning, but it is a complete pain if you are snorkelling, as it disturbs the fish! In the Mediterranean, every scuba diver worth his salt can also skin dive down to 20-30m (60-95ft), so all later models of this watch were not so well suited to skin diving! So... sometimes, as here, the first iteration of a watch turns out to be the best! What a find - keep it and treasure it!!

you can say that again! my dad recently gave me this watch for my 21st birthday, we both love watches. he used to wear this watch a lot when I was a kid, he too was an avid snorkeller and diver. I'd say this watch is probably the watch i've seen the most worn by men in my area, excluding the good old digital casios and submariners (and submariner clones...). by the way, were you stationed in sardinia?

Bought mine in November of 1989. Monterey Bay, Carmel, Mendocino, Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, Cayman Brac, Jamaica, Cozumel, Yelapa, Cabo San Lucas, Maui, Lanai, Kauai to name a few. Used the depth and minute timer on every dive as a back up to my dive computer, accuracy was spot on. Still wear mine to this day

One ☝️ of THE BEST WATCHES I EVER OWNED! Had my for about 20 add years , had it when I was in the Irish navy, travel all over the world with it dived in the India ocean, Irish cost absolutely outstanding watch ... ! Don’t mind the straps, savage bit of kit !

This was and is an excellent dive watch. I bought one about 30 years ago I still have it still works. I worked as a diving instructor. Dive time and depth sensors alarms and records brilliant. I think this predated the Dive computer's and reduced the amount of gears strapped to my left arm.

I bought this watch 35 years ago and apart for some minor changes it's basically the same. It's a classic, a piece of horological history and one of the best professional dive watches ever produced. It's practically indestructible and needs no servicing, just gasket and batteries replacement every five years.

I drooled over this watch for many years...I would stand outside my local jewelers on many a Saturday morning, just looking at, and being totally in awe of it... Mine as the screw case back (flat back six screws) I have owned this watch for over 25 years now, and I have just given it a new lease of life by way of a "new original rubber strap" and new battery .... The watch has never seen a drop of rain ,never mind the seas..... Will be on ebay soon.....

The one you have rob is the re issue which was done for the Danish special frogman seal forces. The prince of Denmarks favorites watch and is called the pingo because the prince usually had to wear his royal outfits and he looked like a penguin so his special forces team used to nickname him pingo which is penguin in Denmark. This watch is north pole ice diving approved.

I got mine at the PX directly after they came on scene. It was the only piece of kit that stayed with me through several yrs of special forces duty in the mid east and else-ware. Now, after all these yrs it started slowing down and stopping. I sent it out to a shop in Ohio, they came back w/ a quote of 650! WTF? Huge sentimental value, but I can't find anyone reputable to tune it up for me.

Had the first version, but it got stolen. Bought a new one 5 min ago, due to watching this video. Denmark has two elite forces the hunter force (army) and frogmen (Navi), and the Frogmen got/get this watch when they have finalized their trainimg. The next Danish King, crown prins Frederik is actually a frogman, and have and wear this watch in puplic, so to a Dane, this watch has a huge story. Frederiks call name in the Navi was Pingo, Citizen Denmark has adopted that and call the watch Pingo version.

I'd seriously consider getting a 'slightly pre-owned' Panerai accordion rubber band in 26mm/22buckle, and notching it ever so slightly with a razor blade to fit the 24mm lugs. I notched the 26 to fit my Citizen Courageous diver with 22 lugs. I have another genuine OP 26mm accordion band coming right now from UK for my older Seamaster with 20 lugs. I just notch them to fit, and they look great and feel like butter. Similar style and fit to what you have on there now, just waaaaaaaaay better and waaaaaaaay softer. Drawback is they're usually $125 - $150 on Ebay, and not many out there at a bargain price. DO NOT buy the cheap knock-offs! They are STIFF like what you want to swap out! I haven't found a better caoutchouc rubber strap that looks as good when notched. That's why I'm now waiting of delivery of number 2. We like wide and soft straps :-)

Bad strap, bad crown, bad bezel action, kinda pricey, weird appendage on the left side. No thanks but interesting to see.
