I really like that Citizen puts long silicone bracelets on their diving watches, because I have a wide wrist and I have a problem when I buy a watch that doesn't have a bracelet long enough for my wide wrist. Citizen, congratulations on that solution. Well done.💪💪💪

I'm a retired US Marine owned the JP2000 back in the late 1990s early 2000s sold it to another Marine. This watch is Marine proof the best tool diver Ive owned besides Seadweller, however no way Seadweller would be used as a tool. The watch took a serious beating I used it as intended and more. Now I'm looking at getting another one, I fought myself hard between getting another Jp2000 and this version however it is so different I love it. I would not have owned this model if I was still in the Corps because it is not a tactical sound watch due to the fact is a full lume dial. I love the full lume dial however a black on black would have been a killer. Said all that to say I ordered one from a dealer in Holland and I can't wait to take it for a dive. Semper Fi Jack of all trades The Gunny.

Great review. As a child of the 70’s and 80’s, I dig the retro vibe on these.

It would be so cool to have this in an orange dial or yellow dial too. I'd add all to my collection. My first cool watch from Service Merchandise back in 1990. Lasted for about 25 years before fogging inside.

Does this watch have the option for imperial measurements like the older models.

This is an incredibly cool piece, on every level. If I ever take up diving as a serious hobby, I'll get one. I just can't justify going around with a depth sensor on my wrist if I'm not 😅

Does anyone have experience with this watch, here I wonder if it is easy to scratch the black metal, is it a black coating on the watch. I think that if it is a black coating, it will wear easily over time?

I love the Aqualand, but I'm not sure about the lighting duration? There are many comparisons on the internet that only show the luminosity for a few minutes. What does it look like after a few hours? When I wake up in the night, I want to know what time it is. For example, whether it's worth falling asleep again or whether it's better to get up straight away and go to work. Can you still read the time on the Aqualand after 6 hours, for example, or can you no longer see anything at all?

It is so seldom for Japanese watch companies to make European market models. Casio for example does a lot of Asian-only models (G-Shocks, Oceanus...). I went for the JP2007-17W and love it right from start.

I've just bought a new JP2000-08E. Like you said the strap is very stiff. I've looked all over the internet to get a replacement from the JP2007 but I can't see any anywhere! Do you know if they are sold anywhere? Thanks.

I am on the same boat. I prefer the JP2000 but this strap on the 2007 seems much better. But then I hate that thick clasp and it wouldnt match the 2000. I could use the original 2000 buckle but the quality is horrible as well. I just ordered a strap from a NH8380 and it feels way better. Softer, better finished on the edges (those edges near the lugs on the 2000 strap are just nasty), Citizen signed stainless steel buckle.

The OEM strap is surprisingly comfortable (feels identical to silicone) but I have a personal dislike of large buckles and bulk in general when I comes to straps. I’ve been searching for straps since I got the watch and I never realized how scarce high quality 24mm straps are, I’ve really taken to the one piece silicone NATOs and I can’t find a single one in 24mm…

To follow up I put in an order for a one piece ‘rubber’ strap from ‘yellowdogwatchstraps’ out of the UK. He sells them made to measure and offers customization, I got a zulu style with low profile pvd buckle. About 30$ shipped if I can remember I’ll update on how it wears.

  • @daa3417

To follow up for the final time yes the strap from ‘yellowdog’ was 90% what I was looking for it’s comfortable and I doubt there’s any possible way you could get a lower profile watch strap the only issue is that it leaves a black residue on my fingers when I take it off… I’m not sure how that will play with a nice white shirt or something similar, it doesn’t seem to get on my wrist only the tips of my fingers and I have gently washed it twice without being able to eliminate it completely. But with that said the guy making these seems to be marketing them specifically as tool watch straps so a little black mark isn’t going to be an issue for a solider or diver on the clock.

I settled on a ‘Shark bracelet’ in black from Deep Blue, it’s a mesh. There are very few options for mesh bracelets in black, but the Shark bracelet is extremely high quality and I’d recommend it for just about any watch.

Extremely poor design, why the hell citizen would give lum marker at end of seconds hand 🤣🤣🤣 looks like a toy watch.. epic garbage. No thanks, spend more money and get a real mechanical dive watch.
