For which this is a great start to be honest.

For sure, the warband is real nice for existing CoS players to get into the game. Though most of the rest of it could likely be found with box breakdowns on ebay (aside from the Marshal and Ogre)

I took a similar list last weekend to a local warcry tournament (my first ever tournament). I managed to win 3 and lose my fourth battle on the final turn. This faction is so strong and so much fun, list below: Calthia Xandire - 210 Freeguild steelhelm - 60 Freeguild war surgeon - 60 Freeguild command corp soul shepherd - 70 Freeguild command arch knight - 120 Freeguild steelhelm - 60 Freeguild steelhelm - 60 Freeguild steelhelm - 60 Freeguild gargoylian - 50 Fusil Major and Ogor Warhulk - 245 The soul shepherd's ability helps to give enough wild dice to use both his triple and Calthia's triple each turn.

Not to be so achingly me, but Splintered Fang would be nasty against this build in a melee brawl. Pushing a bunch of list building into pumping Toughness vs a double always hit on 3s. In direct like "anti build" I'm eyeing cheap 2/4 fighters possibly with +1 crit blessing and a warqueen

Correct me if Im wrong, but dont the reactions also "stack"? And no, I dont mean using double runemark, I mean the toughness. In the reaction it says you increase the toughness until the "rest of the activation", not the end of the action. so If you get attacked, react and get +1 toughness and than the opponent uses their second attack against you (assuming engaged or range) you then react a second time and get another +1T, but the previous has not faded yet as the activation has not ended. Did I read that right?

Great video guys, thanks! I've got x3 games under my belt with this warband and I confess I went (half) down the wrong path. I overthought it and ignored the obvious war hulk combos for Calthia and a Gunnery Sergeant as allies with a Shield Marshal in the lead. Cathia's triple is good, but plays tug-of-war with FFB over the Triple and she's not enough of a titan to justify her points or breaking the built-in synergies. My build wasn't bad, it just wasn't optimized. The Gunnery Sergeant is a good choice, you just have to be ready for what happened to me today: had the GS and x2 Few-sill-ears in my Shield battlegroup and we pulled a deployment card that had them coming on in turn three of a 3-turn mission (Triumph and Treachery). On top of that, their deployment position allowed my opponent to move an Ogor Crusher right into melee lockdown. Was still able to tie the game, but 400 points of gun line was NOT able to win back its points.

Many thanks :) I do think that it's just one way to go with the warband (albeit a pretty strong one) but there are plenty of other viable options in the list. I agree with your assessment of Calthia though; she is very good in warbands that don't have to compete for the triple.

yeah its a tricky one! Id be interested to see your take on it though! It sounds fun. Mine is not the be all all. Its a difficult list to pilot and can have some really bad match ups.

@@robertviscomi8199 I kit bashed a Few-seal Major on Warhulk and am going to try it out. We'll see. I'm also going to try your list with a Gargoylian in place of the Whisperblade and an Annihilator Prime in the second hero spot (I have a Knight-Questor that has Bulwark but not big damage output). I usually play tankier warbands and I'm eager to see if the Annihilator gives me a hybrid that I like. I've also thought about a Hunter-Prime ally from Vanguard. What are your thoughts on these Stormcast allies?

That vid gives me a lot of ideas, although i think the fusiliers aren´t points efficient anymore. After the Metwatchupdate i´d swap the sedon fusilier for arch-knight or two steelhelms. You´ll still have the elite-runmark for every group. what do you think? How would you build the COS castelite hosts after the update?

As somebody who has been on the receiving end as KO, this matchup is TOUGH. can't shoot cause you'll hurt yourself more than them. ok. fine. ill just play the objective. oh wait they move faster and the bannerman give extra movement...

Looking at the matchup from a wildercorps hunters perspective, I'm kind of in the same boat XD The only thing that can be done is to bait out the reactions and focus one guy at a time but that means at least one or two of your fighters taking the loss each turn.
