Great video WOW! 🤩 I really like the Cirrus Aircraft and the new SR-22 carbon fiber models have to be my new favorite GA airplane. The Beech Bonanza is the classic GA aircraft but the new Cirrus SR-22 Carbon I hate to say it but I think it’s really put the Bonanzas even the newer models to shame. 😂

It is interesting why it dominates sales. Maybe the parachute, maybe automotive sound dampening, more modern appearance. Maybe a comfortable door. The Cessna TTX was probably a superior plane, it was faster but maybe their overpricing was even worse than Cirrus and no chute. Both are heavy planes and use very old engines. The Cirrus has a fairly poor glide ratio of 8.8:1 so overall it's still just a slightly more polished composite version of the tractors of old. Much can still be improved. If you saw what was actually possible for a quarter of the price you would be shocked. Maybe a docile wing stall characteristic costs them in glide/performance. An interesting data point for what's possible is the Gekon glider plane that weighs 69kg with everything. Whereas an SR22T weighs 1069kg

I used to fly out of KFXE for my first job outta school. They assigned me the Friday afternoon slot and I was over the moon bc it meant being back to home base in time to party. Then I figured why they did that: you were stuck in taxiing for 30 min behind jets at 100+ degrees in the cabin of the Cessna 210. Trust me… I can appreciate built in AC. I also flown cirrus sr20 and sr22 in the past and I love those planes.

The people should have been dead. Traded my Camry that day for an Outback. I have seen similar scenarios many times. Next to a Volvo or Land Rover there isn’t a safer car. These are only best selling because the competition retired. If it wasn't for the retirement of the Cessna 400/TTx that would be the best and a much more stable plane that was compared to cirrus due to a 50% bigger tail/area, rudder. The ttx had more head, hip and leg room, 235 kts/350 hp vs 210 kts and 315 hp, 200 nm more range, etc, etc. Flew both. Cirrus/cyna can keep it. I'll take the ol'e Cessna all day.
