@@Lily67347 For a gem to be dead; needs to be shattered(gem is broken to pieces. It can keep a gem from being able to display their physical appearance/body. To my knowledge in the continuation of the story” Steven universe the future” yellow diamond was seen putting a gem back together, so I think it can be reversed. ) What happened to Pearl; poofed(lost her physical projection, and turned back into a gem. This is different from a gem being cracked as they are injured, and their physical appearance starts to warp in weird ways, But still contains a physical appearance. One turns into a gem to preserve their natural being and use all their energy to recovering the gym instead of maintaining physical projection)

I love the fact that they are just actually screaming
