Hi, I have a question. Aren't the cyclic quadrilateral theorem and the angels from the same segment theorem contradictory? Because you make a quadrilateral in a circle by drawing two angels from the same two points, just with one below the chord and one above. So both theorems should apply...
@mathsgenie7808
7 жыл бұрын
super void no, the angles in the same segment have to go in the same direction (if that makes sense?) When you draw a chord and split a circle in two you get a major segment and a minor segment - angles in the major segment and equal and angles in the minor segment are equal.

"Angles in the same segment are equal" "Angles in a semi circle are always 90deg" These are basically the same theorem; the segment in the semi-circle is the diameter. I've neither tested nor researched this, but I'm willing to bet that if you had a segment that was half the diameter, the angle produced would be 45deg.

I'm late, but: An isosceles triangle is made up of two angles that are equal, and one that is different. As we already know that the top angle is 125°, and that all angles in a triangle add up to 180°, we just have to minus 125° from 180°. We get 55° which we then divide into two to find x.
