From what i understand, Marx did not work through 'definitions'. He does not define concepts, as his system of thinking is open and dialectical, concepts do not stay the same during the excursus of the critique. This approach should match 'reality', as social reality is a process. A process he (we) want to change, so it is not an objective automatic process. Theory and practice cannot be separated.
