Minmini was INTRODUCED in TAMIL by Maestro ILAYARAJA via Lovvunnaa lovvu song (Doordarshan superhit in the 1991 movie Meera). It was IR who re-christened her Minmini (Mini). IR gave her 40+ SONGS in her short-lived career (probably the most given to her by a SINGLE COMPOSER). She sung for IR until 1995. Whereas, she sang only ~10 songs for Arr! Were Arr, other Tamil and Malayalam music directors (including MGS) SLEEPING? Why did not they give her more songs? Does Minmini have the GUTS to blame Arr for giving her only 10+ songs, or others who did NOT give her anything at all? She had issues with Malayalam composer Vidhyadharan also.

@@BC999 First of all what you are telling is incorrect. Minmini sang around 2000 film songs in 7 languages from 1991-1994. She sang around 200 songs for ilayaraja. She has no problem with ilayaraja. She just told the situation that had happened. Ilayaraja has some issues with maniratnam. That arjunan master also told previously in his interview, ilayaraja and A R Rahman issue due to maniratnam. She has not sung for Ilayaraja after 1993 mid, the songs you are telling in 1995, was recorded earlier and movie was released latter. AR Rahman continuosly given her songs, however after she lost voice in 1993 last, she cancelled her recordings. And she has no problem with vidyadaran master. When she came to sang a album in 1987, vidyadaran master told he want a classical singer however minmini was not trained classical singer. Then musicians told him, she is a good singer. Then she given her song, and the track she sang for janaki become straight because he liked her singing. In this interview she is clearly mentioning, A R and others tried to give her song, but she lost voice and it is difficult for her to sing, she cancelled all recordings. A R given her pachakili padum ooru, maymadam movie one song but she couldn't sang due to voice issue, she sang again in 2001 for AR a song in kanmathil mutham ittal, she participated in his stage shows in 2001-2003, in Malayalam jhonson master given her many songs, however she has not recovered completely. So she herself sidelined her, because it is not fair to waste others timing because of her. She lost her voice in 1994 and recovered it in 2015 only. Still it has some issues, but many music directors like mejo, Gopi Sundar, Deepak dev etc., given her songs. Ilayaraja asked royalty from SBP, Chitra in 2018, that issue you know. He has some issue with his brother gangai amaran also, he also told the same in one interview. Ilayaraja is talented, but he has some ego issue, that is true. But Minmini just told an experience that felt her bad. But from her words it is clear that she has a huge respect for him, because he only introduced her in Tamil.This is the first and only time she told like this. However singer Jhency told some similar story in one of her interviews with minmini. But that has not become viral, so she told just like that. Not to hurt anyone, but an experience in her life, that may be the issue given her a mental block and she may have lost voice because of that also. A person given her life in Tamil music industry telling like this, she can take it mentally, she can cry and can think I will not sang further to anyone. That is an alarming speed even for singers of S. Janaki and P. Susheela caliber!!! Question is WHY is she hell-bent on blaming ONLY IR? I did not say she is a bad singer. I said she is NOT of the same caliber as those aforementioned.

In ALL of her PREVIOUS INTERVIEWS, she has only stated she lost her voice even when Arr called her to record Pachakkili song, she refused but recorded it anyway because Arr "fixed" her voice digitally after recording. She sang BETTER SONGS in IR music; e.g. Amman kovil kumbam, MaNamagale, Adi poonguyile, Kuththaala kuyile etc. Even in her "popular" Roja song, she was originally just a track-singer, after which they thought of leaving it as is; meaning she was NOT the chosen / favorite singer for that song! Here, she is merely accusing IR as if she is paid by someone to criticize IR in an UNFAIR way. Besides, she is NOT a singer of the caliber of S. Janaki, Chitra or Swarnalatha. And it is the composer's choice to pick an apt singer (based on various factors). Were Arr, other Tamil and Malayalam music directors (including MGS) SLEEPING? Why did not they give her more songs? Does Minmini have the GUTS to blame Arr for giving her only 10+ songs, or others who did NOT give her anything at all? She had issues with Malayalam composer Vidhyadharan also. Sreekumar is trying to pour fuel over the fire started by Minmini, and this program is on Amrita TV (Krishnachandran being the executive producer). Actually minmini lost her voice and fell unconscious in 1994 during a stage show in London and it was a big news those days . She was not able to speak also for years. However AR recorded her voice word by word and given her songs like pachakili padum ooru, that song actually each word by word she sang, AR punched and inserted and made it a song. Then he given her humming in rasanthi en usiru thiruda thiruda movie, he again given her some songs in maymadam movie however she rejected and told him she will not sing further, bcz it was giving too much strain in her voice. She sang for AR again in 2001 in kanmathil muthamittal. Sattena ninaydathu nenjam with broken voice. She participated in his concerts across world with just a single song chinna chinna asai singing 4 lines only from 2001 to 2003. Who else AR has given this much respect? Who else AR recorded and participated in concerts with 4 lines and broken voice? Finally she quited the industry bcz she thought people who like her are suffering bcz of her. Malayalam music composers like jhonson master also given her chance, but her voice was broken. However he recorded many songs of her. She is also human, she might felt it bad. A singer who recorded 13 songs a day, lost her voice due to mental block or other health issue. Still people blaming her is not right. She just told what had happened to her, whether she has no right to tell what has happened with Ilayaraja, with whom only she worked most and recorded 200 songs for him within 3 years.

@@prakashgwilliams It was SPB's MISTAKE. SPB (and the whole music industry) knew it, and he later patched up with Ilayaraja to sing in 4 concerts and a couple of songs. Do not babble out of your hatred. DO NOT shed crocodile tears. As such, Malayalam industry did not give SPB many opportunities. Again, it is ILAYARAJA who gave SPB 1200+ songs (SPB sang the MOST HITS and number of songs for IR; the most given to him by a single composer).

എനിക്ക് വളരെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ഗായിക ആണ്. ട ജാനകിയുടെ യുടെ ശബ്ദത്തോടുള്ള നേരിയ സാമ്യം കൊണ്ടുകൂടിയാണ് ഏറെപ്പേർ അവരുടെ പാട്ടുകൾ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത്. പ്രശസ്തിയിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ശബ്ദത്തിന് എന്തോ തകരാർ സംഭവിക്കുകയുണ്ടായി. വിശ്രമം കൊടുക്കാതെ ഒട്ടേറെ പരിപാടികളിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അങ്ങനെയെന്ന് അക്കാലത്ത് കേട്ടിരുന്നു. ചിത്ര കൂടോത്രം ചെയ്തതാണ് എന്ന് മറ്റൊരു കൂട്ടർ പറഞ്ഞു പരത്തി. ഒരു ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ ഒക്കെ കഴിഞ്ഞ് കലവൂർ ബാലൻ മാഷുടെ സംഗീതത്തിൽ മിനി ദൂരദർശനിൽ ഒരുലളിത ഗാനം പാടിയത് ഓർമ്മയുണ്ട്. വളരെയേറെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിയാണ് ആ പാട്ട് മിനി പാടിയത്. അത് ഗുണത്തേക്കാളേറെ ദോഷമാണ് ചെയ്തത്. മിനിയുടെ പാട്ട് പോയി എന്ന് തന്നെ എല്ലാവരും കരുതി. ഈ ഗായിക തിരിച്ച് വരികയാണെങ്കിൽ നല്ലതു തന്നെ

അയ്യോ ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചി കൂടോത്രം ചെയ്യാനോ. മിന്മിനി ട്രാക്ക് പാടുന്ന കാലത്ത് ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചി പല ഡയറക്ടര്സിനോടും പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട് നന്നായിട്ടാണല്ലോ ട്രാക്ക് പാടിയത് അത് തന്നെ യൂസ് ചെയ്താൽ പോരെ ഞാനി പാടണോ എന്നൊക്കെ. ഇത് മിന്മിനി തന്നെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. അത്തരത്തിൽ ഒരു ചില പാട്ടുകൾ മിന്മിനി യ്ക്ക് കിട്ടിയിട്ടും ഉണ്ട്. ഈ പറയുന്ന സമയത്തൊക്കെ ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചി തെലുഗിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു നിൽക്കുകയാണ് ഒരു സിനിമയിൽ 5 പാട്ട് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ 5ഉം ചിത്രയും SPB യും ചേർന്ന് പാടുന്ന ടൈം. രാജ സാറിനും AR റഹ്മാനും ഒക്കെ ആയി തമിഴിലും ഒരുപാട് പാട്ട് പാടുന്ന കാലം. മലയാളത്തിൽ പിന്നെ പറയണ്ടല്ലോ. എത്രയെത്ര സിംഗേഴ്സ് വന്നു പോയി. ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചി യെ അതൊന്നും ഒട്ടും ബാധിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. S Janaki and P Susheela ഒക്കെ നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്ന കളത്തിൽ ആണ് ചിത്ര പാടി തുടങ്ങിയത്. അവരുടെ പിൻഗാമി എന്ന് അവർ തന്നെ പറഞ്ഞ ചിത്ര ചേച്ചി ഏത് സിങ്ങറിനെ ആണ് പേടിക്കേണ്ടത്. മിന്മിനി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് തമിഴിൽ ആണ്. എല്ലാ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലും തമിഴിൽ ഒരുപാട് വലിയ സിംഗേഴ്സ് ഉണ്ട്. തെലുഗു മലയാളം ഒക്കെ പോലെ കുത്തക ആയി ഒരു സിങ്ങർ അടക്കി ഭരിക്കുന്ന സിസ്റ്റം അവിടെ ഇല്ല. ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചിയ്ക്കു ഒരു കോമ്പറ്റിഷൻ ആയി സമകാലികർ ആരും ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു. ആകെ തമിഴിൽ സ്വർണലത, മലയാളത്തിൽ സുജാത, ഹിന്ദിയിൽ അൽക്ക യാഗ്നിക് മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു ഒരു കോമ്പറ്റിഷൻ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്.

Minmini was INTRODUCED in TAMIL by Maestro ILAYARAJA via Lovvunnaa lovvu song (Doordarshan superhit in the 1991 movie Meera). It was IR who re-christened her Minmini (Mini). IR gave her 40+ SONGS in her short-lived career (probably the most given to her by a SINGLE COMPOSER). She sung for IR until 1995. Whereas, she sang only ~10 songs for Arr! Were Arr, other Tamil and Malayalam music directors (including MGS) SLEEPING? Why did not they give her more songs? Does Minmini have the GUTS to blame Arr for giving her only 10+ songs, or others who did NOT give her anything at all? She had issues with Malayalam composer Vidhyadharan also.

@@BC999 First of all what you are telling is incorrect. Minmini sang around 2000 film songs in 7 languages from 1991-1994. She sang around 200 songs for ilayaraja. She has no problem with ilayaraja. She just told the situation that had happened. Ilayaraja has some issues with maniratnam. That arjunan master also told previously in his interview, ilayaraja and A R Rahman issue due to maniratnam. She has not sung for Ilayaraja after 1993 mid, the songs you are telling in 1995, was recorded earlier and movie was released latter. AR Rahman continuosly given her songs, however after she lost voice in 1993 last, she cancelled her recordings. And she has no problem with vidyadaran master. When she came to sang a album in 1987, vidyadaran master told he want a classical singer however minmini was not trained classical singer. Then musicians told him, she is a good singer. Then she given her song, and the track she sang for janaki become straight because he liked her singing. In this interview she is clearly mentioning, A R and others tried to give her song, but she lost voice and it is difficult for her to sing, she cancelled all recordings. A R given her pachakili padum ooru, maymadam movie one song but she couldn't sang due to voice issue, she sang again in 2001 for AR a song in kanmathil mutham ittal, she participated in his stage shows in 2001-2003, in Malayalam jhonson master given her many songs, however she has not recovered completely. So she herself sidelined her, because it is not fair to waste others timing because of her. She lost her voice in 1994 and recovered it in 2015 only. Still it has some issues, but many music directors like mejo, Gopi Sundar, Deepak dev etc., given her songs. Ilayaraja asked royalty from SBP, Chitra in 2018, that issue you know. He has some issue with his brother gangai amaran also, he also told the same in one interview. Ilayaraja is talented, but he has some ego issue, that is true. But Minmini just told an experience that felt her bad. But from her words it is clear that she has a huge respect for him, because he only introduced her in Tamil.This is the first and only time she told like this. However singer Jhency told some similar story in one of her interviews with minmini. But that has not become viral, so she told just like that. Not to hurt anyone, but an experience in her life, that may be the issue given her a mental block and she may have lost voice because of that also. A person given her life in Tamil music industry telling like this, she can take it mentally, she can cry and can think I will not sang further to anyone. Whatever, Minmini sang 200 songs for Ilayaraja. That too within 3 years. So he liked her singing. But he has issue with maniratnam. And he was angry about ar rahman. Arjunan master already told this in his interview.

BLATANT smear campaign! Minmini was INTRODUCED in TAMIL by Maestro ILAYARAJA via Lovvunnaa lovvu song (Doordarshan superhit in the 1991 movie Meera). It was IR who re-christened her Minmini (Mini). IR gave her 40+ SONGS in her short-lived career (probably the most given to her by a SINGLE COMPOSER). She sung for IR until 1995. Whereas, she sang only ~10 songs for Arr! In ALL of her PREVIOUS INTERVIEWS, she has only stated she lost her voice even when Arr called her to record Pachakkili song, she refused but recorded it anyway because Arr "fixed" her voice digitally after recording. She sang BETTER SONGS in IR music; e.g. Amman kovil kumbam, MaNamagale, Adi poonguyile, Kuththaala kuyile etc. Even in her "popular" Roja song, she was originally just a track-singer, after which they thought of leaving it as is; meaning she was NOT the chosen / favorite singer for that song! Here, she is merely accusing IR as if she is paid by someone to criticize IR in an UNFAIR way. Besides, she is NOT a singer of the caliber of S. Janaki, Chitra or Swarnalatha. And it is the composer's choice to pick an apt singer (based on various factors). Were Arr, other Tamil and Malayalam music directors (including MGS) SLEEPING? Why did not they give her more songs? Does Minmini have the GUTS to blame Arr for giving her only 10+ songs, or others who did NOT give her anything at all? She had issues with Malayalam composer Vidhyadharan also. One of things that make Rahman truely adorable is his unbiased approach to anyone with talent. He is far above Raja and Yesudas. BLATANT smear campaign! Minmini was INTRODUCED in TAMIL by Maestro ILAYARAJA via Lovvunnaa lovvu song (Doordarshan superhit in the 1991 movie Meera). It was IR who re-christened her Minmini (Mini). IR gave her 40+ SONGS in her short-lived career (probably the most given to her by a SINGLE COMPOSER). She sung for IR until 1995. Whereas, she sang only ~10 songs for Arr! In ALL of her PREVIOUS INTERVIEWS, she has only stated she lost her voice even when Arr called her to record Pachakkili song, she refused but recorded it anyway because Arr "fixed" her voice digitally after recording. She sang BETTER SONGS in IR music; e.g. Amman kovil kumbam, MaNamagale, Adi poonguyile, Kuththaala kuyile etc. Even in her "popular" Roja song, she was originally just a track-singer, after which they thought of leaving it as is; meaning she was NOT the chosen / favorite singer for that song! Here, she is merely accusing IR as if she is paid by someone to criticize IR in an UNFAIR way. Besides, she is NOT a singer of the caliber of S. Janaki, Chitra or Swarnalatha. And it is the composer's choice to pick an apt singer (based on various factors). Were Arr, other Tamil and Malayalam music directors (including MGS) SLEEPING? Why did not they give her more songs? Does Minmini have the GUTS to blame Arr for giving her only 10+ songs, or others who did NOT give her anything at all? She had issues with Malayalam composer Vidhyadharan also. WHY pelt all the stones on IR alone? TRUTH is: She lost her voice because of her own ill-health, poor voice management and/or bad luck. Even when she got married to Joy (keyboard player), she was under depression, and she somewhat recovered after a long time after which she was given some numbers that could not bring her any more fame. Let her be happy with what she has, instead of blaming O-N-E person. I cannot believe M. G. Sreekumar is trying to pour fuel over the fire started by Minmini, and this program is on Amrita TV (Krishnachandran being the executive producer). Amrita TV, THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO PROMOTE YOUR CHANNEL. Have some conscience, folks. Minmini, it does not cost anything to be classy.

@@vilsudask.a.6750 It is unfortunate for some singers to have issues with their vocal cords. But blaming (only) one person for it, is unfair. The same singer has NEVER blamed Ilayaraja in her previous interviews. This interview sounds fishy, and IR is being unfairly targeted.

ചിത്രച്ചേച്ചി മാത്രം എന്തോ രാജ സാറിനും കീരവാണി സാറിനും ഒക്കെ ഒരേപോലെ ഒരുപാട് പാട്ടുകൾ പാടി. അറിയില്ല റഹ്മാൻ സാറിനു വേണ്ടിയും ഒരുപാട് പാട്ടുകൾ പാടി. പക്ഷെ മിന്മിനി പറഞ്ഞപോലെ ഒരു ഗായിക ആയിരുന്നു ജെൻസി ചേച്ചി. രാജ സാറിന്റെ കുറേ ഹിറ്റ്‌ പാട്ടുകൾ പാടി തമിഴിൽ കുറേപേരുടെ ഇഷ്ടഗായിക ആയി വന്നു. പെട്ടെന്ന് അവരുടെ കരിയറും അവസാനിച്ചു. കാരണം എന്താണെന്ന് അറിയില്ല. ബട്ട്‌ ആരോ ഒരു പോസ്റ്റ്‌ ഇട്ടിരുന്നു രാജ സാറിന്റെ ഈഗോ കാരണം ആണ് ജെൻസിയുടെ കരിയർ അവസാനിച്ചത് എന്ന്.
