Cinemachine Is Really Powerful, Set It Up EASILY

When it comes to tools you must be using during game development, Cinemachine is right near the top. Easily top 3. I think many people can get overwhelmed with how to use it and never take the leap, but its dramatically more powerful than the Main Camera can ever hope to be.
Here is how you can setup a variety of different camera configurations in your game in literally minutes.

For those who want to learn more about how complex/unique cameras can be in games, there is a great GDC called "how cameras in 2D side scrollers work". Having a little more understanding on how older/other games made their player experience unique from the camera may help with using this tool more. Thank you for this video explanation!

I like the idea of the camera zooming in or out depending on the player's movement speed. The old Sonic games had something similar.

My character controller is from your 2D top down movement. So I’m using rb.velocity to move. But cinemachine isn’t following my player! The player will move but gets stuck. It’s like the playable area is a small circle around the player. How do I make cinemachine follow my player?

I feel very sorry for people who'd never heard of Cinemachine and tried to hand-hack this stuff. It then didn't work and these people just gave up. (And by "people" I actually mean me...)
