anyone know why when I set the contraint, and then add the rigid body to the motext, it doesn't stick. The constraint acts as if the motext just stays in place, even when it falls.

Hi there! I've followed exactly what the video has shown to create the spline and the cube. Everything was fine until the part where I started to apply "Constraint" to the spline and it didn't move at all. Anyone know what might go wrong? Thanks! :)

good stuff. can you please explain why the constrained verteces dont follow the object they're attached to? i used your tutorial to make a swinging sign hanging on ropes. but when dynamics move the sign back and forth, the verteces/splines don't follow it.

I am also having the same problem. Can you explain how to get the ends to stick inside of the mograph text? My rope/string pops in and out of the text. How can I anchor this? Thanks. Great tutorial.

+James P There are settings on the Constraint Tag for Influence. I'm not sure but try those settings. If that doesn't work try reattaching the constraints. Make sure you have a spline point selected when you click the Set button. The order of this procedure is very important. It's very easy to get this wrong. I spend about 2 hours trying to get this to work and it wasn't my first time doing this.

Interesting but suppose the rope is connected to an object I want to animate that maually and want the rope to follow but not stretch, how do I force the rope remaining same lenght and force the null that is attached to that to stop from going in a direction since the rope cannot stretch. IK should work on that but there should be a way with spline dynamics too right ?

mayorc well from my understanding of this video, maybe only add one constraint to your animated object.

at 2:15 you used Mesh, but this menu not appear in my c4d 11.5, i am using an older version of c4d ?? where to find this ?

+Abdul Majid yes it sounds like you have a very old version of cinema 4d..might still be there hidden somewhere
