Cinema 4D Tutorial - Create a Rolling Banner in Cinema 4D

Фильм және анимация

In this tutorial, due to many requests from folks wanting me to break down the rolling beach towel from this GIF (dribbble.com/shots/2566446-Be..., I'm going to cover a couple different ways you can create a rolling banner or rolling carpet in Cinema 4D. First, I'll show you how you can use a simple Bend deformer and animate it to create a rolling carpet. Then, I'll show you how you can use MoSplines to not only create a rolling carpet but an unfurling banner using Particle Effectors and Mograph Effectors.
And as always, if you have any questions, be sure to post it in the comments section and if you create anything cool using this technique, be sure to share it with me! Thanks for watching!

    thanks for the video :)... question, when applying the gravity effector , the spiral goes all weird making some non-concentric rolls.. any guess how this could be fixed?

    Thanks so much for making this! I am using R24 so not sure if it is something different with the update, but when using the bend deformer on the cube, the cube height spreads out to the entire length of the deformer and its coming out oddly. Do you have any insight on this?

  • @eyedesyn

    @eyedesyn

    Thanks! For stairs that would be a bit more complex, maybe using a Spline Wrap or perhaps a Mesh Deformer to have this rolling banner conform to the shape of a stairway

    Thank you for the tut btw. Just wondering if there's a way of doing the roll on an object with a bent. I would like the bend deformer to follow the shape of my object. I managed to get the object bending but cause it has a curvature when it's completely folded it's giving me some weird results

  • @eyedesyn

    @eyedesyn

    8 жыл бұрын

    What I would do is make an object, apply the Bend deformer to it first, then have it follow a spline using Spline Wrap,

    Great job. I have learned a lot from this video. But I have one question. I made the rolling banner like you did. But when I exported to keyshot plugin and hit the play button. Animation doesn't move. just one big roll sit there. Do you know why? Thank you.
