No it's not physics since it's only an object with animation.If it has physics then we could break the drive shaft but it is animated and the animation is tied to the rpm of the engine so yeah

Yeah that's is correct since beamNG and rigs of rods have much better damage system than most games since there is also piston piston rings etc
