Cincinnati REDS at New York METS 4/14/85 Original WOR Broadcast

Спорт

Out from the VHS archives and recently restored and Digitalized the first of a series of Met games recorded and pre recorded on VHS from the 1985 and 1986 seasons just trying to upload in chronological order date wise.
This game from an Original WOR-TV broadcast with Ralph Kiner, Tim McCarver and Steve Zabriski from Mighty Shea.
Player/Manager Pete Rose brings the Reds to Shea Stadium to face Dwight Gooden who goes on to pitch another complete game including allowing only four hits and striking out 10..as Gary Carter's hits his 3rd Homerun of the season a line drive shot off Cincinnati starter Jay Tibbs.
These series of VHS recorded games were just laying on a shelf or stored in a road cast finally up for the first time on youtube and will upload a few others that probably haven't been seen in years..more on the way

I remember this game vividly! It was a Sunday afternoon game. I watched this game nursing a huge hangover after a huge college beer blast party the night before celebrating the end of the semester. Ah, memories!

Footage from this game was used in Bruce Springsteen's video for "Glory Days." And yes, those days really were something.

All the elements that attracted me to baseball and that pretty much defined baseball greatness in the early mid 80s is all in one video unlike today.

There's a little bit of winner in everyone. A little bit of 'got to be the best" A little "Oh, I know I can do it." There's a little bit of better than all the rest. It's a feeling of working together. It's the joy in sharing a dream. It's giving your heart to make it better. And being a part of the teammmmm! Catch the Rising Stars! Catch the Rising Stars! The Mets for all the world to see! The Mets a part of you and me! There's a little bit of Mets in everyone. Go for the challenge. Go for the fun! Catch the Rising Stars! Catch the Rising Stars! The Mets for all the world to see! The Mets a part of you and me! Catch the Rising Stars. Watch them shine, on Channel 9!

I think it’s you..he knows the game..very knowledgeable of past and present baseball..never misses a beat (no dead air) and most important no BS was a MLB network broadcaster to add to the resume..my opinion McCarver was one of the best from 80s and 90s happy to have him on WOR 😎👍
