Trent brown is only on a 1 year deal. We need a franchise OT to keep burrow healthy. Mims was a great pick.

Still there's more glaring holes that would impact immediately that wouldnt be giant gambles on a project. The man is inexperienced for a reason. We have him in case of injuries and he's more likely to be injured than them. Guy be injured getting off the plane

This idea we didn’t need a tackle is nuts. There is no way both Browns start all 17 games and playoffs. Mims will start at least 6 games and is the future starting tackle. Smart move.

But we aren't gonna make the playoffs having 31st run defense in league plus losing reader not are we gonna make playoffs with our secondary allowing twice the deep passes as the next worst team. @@heathswinson6506 There's no guarantee that Byron Murphy or Newton would be day 1 starters, #1. #2 we brought in both Geno Stone and Vonn Bell to reinforce the secondary. #3 Rankins brings an element of pass rush and his run stopping is underrated. #4 If/when Trent Brown goes goes and/if Burrow gets hurt, it doesn't matter how good our defense is, we won't make the playoffs. Do you feel confident that Jackson Carman would be a good replacement??With respect, I just don't understand your perspective.

Hopefully they go CB or DT in the next 3 picks

I would definitely trade up for Newton because I would feel like we got 2 picks at 18. I wanted Mims I proly wouldn't want to give up much more then a 3rd. I would love to give up less though because I like a lot of prospects. But would feel like we hit the draft lottery if we got Mims & Newton. All the people that didn't have Mims would have to be happy. I would be shocked if Newton wasn't the highest guy on there board right now.

My only concern with Newton is the Lisfranc surgery and is he fully recovered. Surgery if successful does not guarantee a 100% return to pre injury form. The average return of function is 85%. I am sure the Bengals gave done due diligence on this as have other teams. If Newton drops to 49 my question would be why is he still there.
Hopefully players that help this year not emergency back ups and possible future starters.
Yes, good pickup. You look at The Eagles they're lineman were huge also.
Bro your the best your always on the grind and have the best job ever James Rapien
Still need a CB
I think this might be a good time to move up and get someone they like Newton. He'll probably be gone within 5-6 picks. If not, maybe sit back and get Troy Franklin.
There's word that Bengals FO is considering trading up in the 2nd. The only one that comes to mind would have to be for Newton, but we'll see if they actually pull the trigger or not. Personally, I wouldn't be mad if the waited and grabbed a guy like DT Ruke Orhorhoro (SP??) at pick 49 instead. He seems pretty balanced in both Pass Pro and Run-Blocking, so nothing I could complain about.
Fiske would be a great pick. The guy plays with tenacity.
You have to do your homework and give yourself options. The Mims pick sort of went in that direction after Byron Murphy Jr. went two picks earlier to the Seahawks IMO. Jessie Bates III, was a third rounder the Bengals hit a home run on out of Wake Forrest. There is still value and immediate impact players out there. These rounds coming up are how you WIN or LOSE in the draft. Sure there are needs but you just can't pass up an impact player based solely on need. You end up with the 10th best lineman when you could have a guy in the top three at another position.
Another good prediction!
Actually, looking at the board, I think they could be fine. I know they like Newton, but Fiske, Jenkins, Hall, and Sweat are right there too. I think they may get away with getting Jackson Powers-Johnson first, then deal some later picks to move up and get one of the DTs next and/or someone like WR Franklin.

Great pick can go jumbo pkg think about it him on either side of brown run behind it screen he can move need to watch run on wr dt class may have to move up
I know they'll get criticism for it but if Tyvondre Sweat is there at 49 I'd draft him ?? Or we'll be playing against him in Pittsburgh 😮 as Cam Heyward replacement

If there is a player rated as a first round talent still available in the upcoming picks, this would be silly. Especially if Newton continues to get a little closer. I wouldn't wait too long
I think we have 3 day two picks I would take best DT at 49 then best Interior O lineman at 80 then either CB or WR . A year or two ago I looked at rookie lineman that started at least half their teams games and virtually all of them were drafted within the first 90 picks. So I would target an O lineman with one of these day 2 picks. Trench play the most important so an O lineman and an interior DT should be the first 2 of those picks unless a CB or Wr drops in our laps. I would not rule out trading up to get a guy who will really help and start

@cristofer7518 while I'd agree, slot receivers, forgive me, are a dime a dozen. Iosivas and the pudue guy I think are starting-level slot receivers. While it'd be an 'upgrade' there's just too many other things to worry about that are pertinent THIS YEAR imo
What about Sweat?
I still have many doubts that the Bengals move up a good amount to pull the trigger on a player, even if they are one of very few first round graded players left. I want them to move up and grab a stud, like Newton, but its not the Bengals way
Why are we going to trade picks now to move up? Last night was the perfect chance to do so and they sat on their hands and drafted a project.
Cade Stover in the 3rd or back end of 2nd
Hopefully DT and Wide receiver and CB in that order
Saban kinda ripped the ot pick cause he has only started 8 games ans was banged up alot , the last time the bengals took an ot in the first round, it was the big boy from Alabama, I think his name was Andre Smith, and Saban at the time was really surprised the bengals took him, you can see his reaction from that pick at that draft, he was really surprised, and not in a good way lol, he didn't pan out for the bengals and who knows if this guy will either... I'm starting to wonder if Burrow is injury prone too. He is a really good qb but im not sure he can stay healthy 😢... now Higgins and Hendrickson want to be traded, and I wonder if maybe their window is still open or has actually closed as crazy as it sounds!!! Are we better today then when we went to the super bowl? Idk
So we just not even gonna talk about Cade Stover just sitting there?
If Mims stays healthy, ankle injuries and injured running the 40. They need to build up the defense because they are clearly not focusing on the offense end and in this upgraded AFC North they better be able to stop teams because they won't be able to score much on them
Bengals need to go ahead and trade Tee for pick 33 , 60 , 141 from the Bills. Imagine getting Roman Wilson(60) Newton (33) Bebe (49) could go WR Again with pick 80 or 97
I loved their approach to the last two drafts and am very optimistic about Dax Hill, Miles Murphy and DJ Turner. Seems to me they try to draft more athletic beasts. I like that they are going for upside.
They need a d lineman hopefully its a big name
mason smith is a beast

Ah yes, the college football powerhouse Marshall. Dane Brugler has all of 2 guys from Marshall listed in the Beast draft guide as being draft worthy, one which you already named. I’d say drafting from Michigan would be a much safer bet, considering that program’s success the last few years. Conversely, Brugler has a draftable player at nearly every position from Michigan. But yeah, don’t draft Michigan players, Marshall is where the talent’s at! Also, I disagree on using all 10 picks. I have high doubts all 10 picks would make the roster. There’s about 37 locks to make the roster that are currently on the roster, by my count. And there’s still some more that I would expect to make it but still have to compete in camp. Then toss in the first 4 or so picks in this draft. That gets us damn close to 50. You think whoever they pick with those 2 sixths and 2 sevenths are for sure making the roster? They could, but I think it’s much more likely they get cut and end up on the practice squad or with another team. I say package those late picks to a pick-hungry team like Chicago and get another pick in rounds 2, 3 or 4.
