I was born and raised in a town of 250 people that surprisingly even had one cigar shop/lounge a town over! My grandfather, my father, and I all had the same dentist! He was an old man by the time I was up(: So I more than understand all of this! Love it! Haha

Arizona native here, but relocated to Washington 6 yrs ago. You guys were spot on with just about everything. Man I miss the cigar shops and lounges there. Here’s an example of your typical Washington cigar shop. 10,000 glass meth pipes to choose from, cigarettes by the carton, and a 5ft wide cigar case with about 10 different cigars to choose from. I miss the good ole days 😢

I can relate! I'm in Oregon and have had similar experiences at just about every location I've checked out in the state.

As someone who is from Los Angeles and helped start and currently run a cigar lounge in Eastern Ohio, I agree with most of the points. The only point I have pushback on is the legacy cigar lovers. At least in the steel valley, most of my customers are boutique lovers. They really love Foundation, Dunbarton, Caldwell, and Regina. There's also a huge following for Oscar Valladares due to the Pittsburgh connection to Leaf and Bean and the creation of the Island Jim and the Leaf by Oscar.

Central Ohio is growing rapidly, lots of new cigar shops/lounges opening up. Variety is getting alot better with more competition, but prices in shops wont be cheaper than online

Cincinnati man here. Born and raised. Moved around a bit as a young adult but always came back home. We do know our people. I love that small town community vibe. It is slowly being destroyed but there are still pockets here and there that remind me of the 90's.

Great discussion. I recently moved from Wisconsin to SoCal and can say cigar lounges here are much less friendly than in Wisconsin. In Wisconsin, I am sure a lot like OH, everyone was welcoming and friendly. I've gone to a couple lounges here in LA and am side-eyed almost the entire time.

JB, Crazy man... I live about 15 minutes from Heidelberg College and one of my favorite gun shows to take a little trip to was always at the Medina fairgrounds. And third, I work in Sandusky where Cedar Point is. Very relatable segment tonight. But I tell you what, that's what makes me want to get out to AZ even more to have a smoke with you and Bradley. One of these days... By the way I think your guy's' assessments of Ohio lounges is pretty spot on- always familiar faces in our lounges. And yes I know what it's like to put on the winter gear to cut, light, and smoke in the cold ace garage! A warm Timberwolf helps a ton! Cheers guys!

From Ohio, pretty accurate. I laughed, so did my wife, when you mentioned sitting in the garage with a heater. I know of two lounges, Robusto and Brian is my go to, and a few other places to grab cigars. I ride a motorcycle so sometimes I have to bundle up to get a ride in to extend the riding season. Definitely get the invite a friend reference to a bonfire. I think I would like Arizona, one of my classmates from school moved there and really likes it. I enjoy your podcast gents, keep it up.

I got a kick out of this as I grew up in central Ohio and now live in a snowbird state myself, Flori-duh. Dead right on about Ohio for sure. I have to smoke outside which makes it freaking impossible here for about six months out of the year, especially this year.

If you guys are ever back near Dayton, just a little ways south in West Carrolton is a great cigar lounge ran by a couple of great guys, Bryan and Gonzo, B&G Cigar Lounge. Stop in and visit if you ever get the chance. I don't have a lounge near my home, living in rural Indiana, but whenever I am up that way I make sure to stop in there for a while, I consider it my 'home lounge' even if it is an hour and a half away.

Not to argue your points, because they're pretty much all right, but as a native of AZ... 1. I feel like I know most people in the lounge on the day(s) that I come into the shop. And if I don't, I do by the end of the cigar I'm smoking. I love hanging out in the lounge and chatting with everybody. I love it partially BECAUSE we're such a melting pot of different backgrounds. 2. Considering the fact that AZ didn't become a state until 1912, it's kind of unfair to compare histories. We haven't had a ton of generations here to have "storied traditions" or roots. That being said, my father and I were delivered by the same doctor at the same hospital (Phoenix General). But yeah, I've got nothing other than that. 3. Ah yes, AZ weather. When I was a kid, my family moved to Idaho and that's where I grew up, but we came back to visit family often. The weather is why I moved back and stayed here. No 10' snow drifts in Phoenix. No -40 plus the windchill days here. Sure it gets a bit hot for four months a year, but the other eight are AWESOME. 4. Yeah...this is AZ. We have a lot of dicks that live here, so we have to vet. There were no cotton fields north of Bell Rd. back then, it was all empty desert. When riding motorcycles at night, you'd cross Bell Rd, headed North and the temp would drop by 10+ degrees. In the summer it was a blessing. In the winter, it sucked. 5. You know, one of the things I love about the Valley (Phoenix and it's surrounding suburbs) is the sheer variety of EVERYTHING we have. From food to cigar shops, there is a huge variety of everything out here. Where I grew up in Idaho (small town, 300 people) there was NOTHING for MILES around. The nearest "big town" (5,000+) was 40-50 miles away. To get to a town with an ACTUAL variety of things took 2 hours. Admitted, there are times when I wish I could raise my kids like I grew up, but most times, I'm appreciative of living in a city with such a great variety of everything. Sorry, just felt a need to respond to each point for some reason. Must be because I like your videos. LOL

“Cousins Cigars” or “Robusto & Briar” are the best spots for cigars in my opinion in northern Ohio.

Meanwhile here in Utahhhh... Zero cigar lounges and only 2 decent cigar shops. Also, you cannot have cigars shipped to Utah... for the most part. I still get mine. 😎 Add to it that Winter lasts 5 months of the year so you're buried under layers of clothes with outdoor heaters or you build your own indoor cigar lounge. ✅ The struggle is real! 😱

I am from Kansas City, go Chiefs! I would say what you perfectly describes the cigar culture in the area, but with a little less you know everyone or a 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon connection. It’s cold, let’s hang out at Joe’s and smoke cigars, he’s single and we can smoke inside… or let’s meet at X lounge and grab a stick.
