13/08/2022 Today a young promise named David popovici beated this unbelievable record with a time of 46.86, but everyone will rember this race, Cesar was the first legit man under 47 seconds in the 100 meters, he had a great race also because his suit but man, world record, I'm very excited to see the future races of popovici and I'm also excited to see what dressel will do now, because he isn't the best in 100 meters anymore (but I think he will beat the 50 meters record on the future) Thank you Cesar, thank you David for these amazing races during this 15 years of swimming.

And the WR still remains after Tokyo Olympics. Congrats to Cielo!

Even though I havent swam for years, I still come back to this race from time to time. Literally the greatest race I've ever seen, a record I thought would be unbreakable until Popovici came along. What a race!

@@truth-uncensored2426 that’s because the suit cielo and biederman used was a new type of speed technology, giving them way more of an edge than Phelps or Lochte ever had. Notice how both of them weren’t as good after that 2009 meet? They relied on their suits. Phelps and a lochte can still win gold without suits and as old men😂. The reason the meet holds 9 world records is because of the newly designed suit.

While nearly all world records for superwear have fallen, Cielo's remain. And about the US swimmers, they're all new doping users who never get caught in the tests, how do you think there are always people doing "miracles" in your country with the fierce competition that exists in swimming? Americans are drugged just like Jackie Joyner -Kersee and Florence Griffith-Joyner. ....

Different suits mate. People say things about Biedermann too. But I guess most people don't know that, so I conclude it is not the suits per se, just the inconsistency without them. Both dropped to midfielders in the finals after suits were banned.

De sus tiempos en larga en las pruebas de libre no puedo decir nada porque, aunque con el super traje, son dos récords que han durado 11 años, y si miras la tabla de los 100 mejores tiempos es de los nadadores que más tiempos tienen. Sin traje ganó el 50 libre y mariposa en dos mundiales seguidos, y ya ganó el 50 libre en 2009, lo que hace que lo haya ganado 3 veces seguidas, algo único en la historia. Es campeón olímpico del 50 y tiene además dos bronces, uno en el 100 en 2008 y otro en el 50 en 2012, y es el nadador que mejor llegaba a la pared de la historia. En corta es bueno pero sus tiempos no son nada increíble, con o sin traje Manadou y Morozov son mejores en corta por un buen margen. Dressel ha ganado el 50 libre (con la mayor diferencia de la historia), 100 libre y 100 mariposa en larga en dos mundiales seguidos, y en 2022 quizá gane el 50 libre, 100 libre y 100 mariposa por tercera vez, y el 50 mariposa por segunda vez (quedó cuarto en una ocasión). In this race, all 8 guys were wearing the same suit and the guy who won had to come from behind (he was in 2nd at 50m), so he won because of skill and he set a record in a suit he was allowed to wear at the time, so give him his credit while also appreciating the guy who set the new record.

Filho swam the record with a supersuit (which is banned now). After the supersuit was banned he never swam a time close to this. Caeleb Dressel who hasn't ever worn a supersuit still goes 46.96. He will definitely break the record, because of his great form. Without the supersuit Filho wouldn't have broken the record.
