This song was released when dance music was at it's absolute zenith; the charts were over flowing with intoxicating hypnotic dance music, we were spoilt with sumptuous sensual tracks to the point, that a masterpiece like this track didn't garner the rave reviews it so richly and evidently deserved. It could've done better if Jive wasn't actively sabatoging Ciara's Fantasy Ride Era. The album was plagued by leaks, push backs, defending, etc. This song was actually still a hit tho, even with all that. It hit the top ten, was certified platinum, and did well on the main charts in over 23 countries.

No. If you pay attention there are a few artists who did this. Quite a bit actually. I can’t remember their name but they’re a very famous show that puts on a sexy dance show. Beyoncé stated in her making of her visual album, she went to the show and was so impressed and Inspired. She then did her video partition just like the show. If you watch the original act, Beyonces video is to the exact t of the show. Every light, the chair, the cage, the bar. A lot of these artist incorporate that show. Beyoncé ain’t copying someone if that artist is copying herself too. Ciara was not the first to copy them. Even jlo did it recently and then everybody said she was copying Beyoncé. Not one of them are the original. If you figure out who they are, go look up their show. It’s really good and you’ll see how much the partition video looks like it. At least she actual gave them a shot out, unlike the rests of the artists.

This single actually did very well. It went to #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the song was Grammy nominated. The album on the other hand didn’t receive great promotion and in all honesty it was a weak album.

They weren't a secret. The media just didn't care to publicize them. Photos also from during that time are hard to find now since they were either personal photos (or taken by fans on really old 90s websites that are broken links). The paparazzi were not really following teenybopper artists like that.

Being a white 13 years old middle schooler at the time, I had a thing for Ciara since I've listened to some of her songs back in the mid 2000's. Nowadays, I don't really listen to rap/hip-hop music a lot, but there was a time when the music came at the right time at the right place. The first time I watched this video, I was afraid of telling everybody that I liked her because she was and still is beautiful and given that I grew up in an urban environment where rap/hip-hop was the only music being played in my middle school and high school, most of the kids were into Beyoncé. I didn't really get into Beyoncé's music and to this day, I still don't, but I always felt that Ciara was underrated. Many people on here have said that Beyoncé has copy a lot of ideas from Ciara, which I agree. I know that this is going to pissed off some Beyoncé fans, but it's true. Ciara is not only beautiful and sexy in that regard, but she definitely oozes sex appeal without being too provocative or, to put it in another term, "hyper-sexualized." When she moves her body and her booty at 1:31-1:34, she does it with confidence and sexiness. She is confident in the way she moves her body. Not only that, but she is a damn good songwriter.
