This album is an incredible debut album and I feel each album gets better and better. They are so amazing live I am glad I can say I saw them live. The reason I love Synthpop and Synthwave is the music is very much usually so chill and puts me in just a great headspace.

The addition of the drums to that chorus build-up is just such so impactful, even quite emotional - it really has this potent effect that beautifully culminates in the climax of the song.

If you love this band you should definitely check out cannons, purity ring, phantogram, alunageorge, Marina, the sounds and the yeah yeah yeah's. Grouplove, big grams and arcade fire have female/male vocalists. And here's some male vocalist bands that are in the same vein, ya know like indie electro kinda stuff- Miike Snow, tame impala, glass animals, jungle, alt j, neighborhood, foster the people, the strokes, broken bells, big grams, Phoenix, crosses, two door cinema club, Ratatat, Empire of the sun, Bloc Party, eagles of death metal, milky chance and pixies. I hope whoever is still reading this is having a wonderful evening and I promise you won't be disappointed by any of those artists I suggested. Those are some of my faves of that genre. I also love primus, dead Kennedys, tool, nine inch nails, bad brains, faith no more and underground hip hop like zion I, atmosphere, cunninlynguists, sol, Sam lachow, living legends, hieroglyphics, people under the stairs, big Boi, del, sweatshop union Andre nickatina and a million more. K I'm done now.

Feels like an 80's flashback.

I don't know who will see this or read this, but they toured the album BEFORE the album release - so when they played this at their show at the Commodore in Vancouver, my friends and I had no idea what any songs were, but I remember this one sticking out, and we were going crazy to it. This takes me right back.

+Dale Rider What are you on about? She needs to study? This girl has a 4 year law degree and masters in journalism. I'd say she's pretty well studied. Perhaps some of the problems you have understanding her are because she has a Scottish accent and you are not Scottish ? I'm just assuming you aren't, but perhaps I'm wrong. I understand her vocals crystal clear on just about every word in every song this band has.

Omoizin Yeah, I'm aware of that, but when he mentioned pronunciation and diction it was implying as if she's not using a broad vocabulary or correct pronunciation. I was just saying that I'm sure her vocabulary and what not are great, because you probably wouldn't have multiple degrees while having a limited vocab or not knowing what words sound like.

She has such peace in the tone of her voice it's beautiful and so is she

It is now 10 years since this incredible, wonderful, beautiful and spectacular video released. It makes me emotional, really, how crazy time has flown - 10 years ago feels so far away yet so close at the same time, and I remember this exciting era of CHVRCHES dearly with all my heart. I will forever miss these days, and I simply can't believe this video is now one decade old, a blast to the past, to the simpler times, and to the early and utmost promising days of what is now one of my favourite bands of all time. Love this video.!! I wish I could explain what it is i Love SO MUCH about this band. All three of them , and how they blend their individual and even contrasting elements. Evocative music, angelic vocals, = completely transcendent, or Elevating !!

Odd story, I woke up to this song at the Pemberton Music Festival. I was alone when a laid down, but surrounded by a crowd when I woke up. It was super surreal, and such a fun experience to enjoy this band for the first time, alongside so many others.
