Churchill & the Queen | FULL MOVIE | 2022 | Sir Winston Churchill Documentary
Sir Winston Churchill was an undoubtedly skilled strategist and war hero, but Churchill’s power lay in his eloquence in his speech and writing. When resources were limited, it was his speeches that rallied Britons to believe they could win the war.

He didn’t face a cavalry charge in Sudan,he was in the cavalry charge!🇬🇧
I am an American and this is a documentary about two of my favorite people
I admire this effort but as an historian I have seen so many movies on this precise subject I can only say if people are really interested then they must read Churchill’s books.

Mmmm wouldn't that amount bias? Churchill himself said the victors write the history. What is important is to read history from various angles. By 1951 when Churchill became a peacetime prime minister he was well past his best, having started to have strokes during the closing days of the war. It is said that Eden who was Foreign Secretary wanted to ask the King to persuade Churchill to resign, however, the King died before this could happen.

@ carolking6355 @ chrisw1090 David Starkey's - "The Churchills" (all 3 episodes of the BBC series) have been uploaded to YT. The series is well worth watching (about 40 -. 45 min each) Churchill's grasp of history was phenomenal! What a life he led!

@@chrisw1090 while true, it's hard for most amateur and even professional historians to refrain from personal bias, but if one wants to see Churchill's viewpoints and opinions, his books are undoubtedly the best way to gain that information. I personally found a great deal of insight while reading an abridged version of his Second World War books, so much so I have resolved to read all of his non-fiction books to their fullest extent.

Queen Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Her other Realms and Territories. She was never a mere 'Queen of England'. The last Queen of England only died in 1603, Queen Elizabeth I.
Love the speech by the 14-year-old unknowingly future Queen.
He was to Queen Elizabeth as Lord Melbourne was to Queen Victoria.

Except Queen Victoria had the hots for Lord M! Pretty sure QE2 didn't have that issue with Churchill!!😂
What a great story about 2 of the greatest figures of the 20th century.
The opening says Churchill had a young Queen to face the Nazi Threat. WWII had been over for 7years before Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne. Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in January 1933, not September 1939. This is pretty easy stuff…
Elizabeth was not yet queen when her father and Churchill along with the allies took down the Nazis.
Britain was fortunate to have him there during WW2.

@@petefluffy7420 the great nations such as Australia, Canada and New Zealand contributed strongly to the defeat of both Nazi Germany and imperial Japan. The war was not just in Europe. It was also in the Pacific. Great Britain was stretched to the limits and needed help which was most generously given.

I was sitting in church with my mother, in Toronto, and the Priest stopped service and announced that Churchill had passed. My mother said to me, "there's the reason we went to church today".
I sincerely appreciated real footage throughout this documentary. I was born a little less than 100 years after Sir Winston Churchill so I was not around during this time.
Winston Churchill was a great man. I enjoyed this film.
Hitler became chancellor in 1933.
Voted the greatest Englishman of all time several times and rightly so. Though Elizabeth didn't become Queen until well after the war, so the whole programme is misleading.

And that's exactly what the documentary says.....🤷
Integrity was important back then. The world doesn’t care about it as much. Legacy was more important to how history would view them. Churchill was a tough cookie but he had to be. Hitler had to get the message from world leaders that his ways were not accepted.
Wow- the inaccuracies
Yes, by God he was the old loin of England. What a great man. Respect !!
George VI remained King until his death in 1952, more than 6 years after the end of the war in Europe. By the time Elizabeth became Queen, Churchill was struggling to command the support of the Conservative Party in Parliament. Yes, he had been a colossal figure from 1940 until 1945, and he supported the young Queen admirably, but she was not a wartime (WWII) queen. This tale is sadly garbled, with footage of US troops linked to commentary about events long before the Americans mobilised following Pearl Harbour in December of 1941. Churchill's finest hours came in the late 1930s and early 1940s, when he was chastising his predecessors as Prime Minister, laying bare the Nazi threat, and encouraging Roosevelt to step up to the mark with men and materials to support the British and Empire efforts to hold off the Germans, Italians and their allies until the Yanks finally came through. Then, his sad reward for years of heroic effort was to be sidelined as the Americans set out to "win the War." Elizabeth was still a girl, and her contribution was to be a motor mechanic in the Army.
Elizabeth became queen after World War II.
Wow.
This video would make a great drinking game. After every glaring historical error, you've gotta down a shot.
Error TWO? Shore up Italians fighting elsewhere? Good grief why would you do this and not even know basic FACTS??
Thank you for the upload.

Wrong right from the beginning. Elizabeth didn't become Queen until after WWII ended. Churchill was PM to her father during the war. Lost me at that BIG bit of misinformation. Bad research.
She was in her early twenties…she was 25

AGEE, BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE BLUE EYES AND BLOND HAIR
There are probably many good things about this film, but I stopped watching after only a couple minutes because of its huge, easily checked historical errors. Hitler became Chancellor - appointed by President Hindenburg - in 1933, not 1939. And the Nazis never 'won' a (free) general election, tho they did get the largest vote in the first of two parliamentary elections of 1932; they got less in the second one, suggesting they had passed their peak of support. The makers of this video might reply that such context is not its main point, it's about Churchill and Elizabeth. That doesn't wash; you can't treat basic, factual accuracy (this is Not obscure stuff, any competent European historian could've easily corrected the opening of this script, the narrator's confident tone of voice notwithstanding) as a trivial nuisance, then expect to be taken seriously. If they can't get stuff like that right, how accurate is the rest of the video? And how reliable is its perspective?

Pictures of Pearl Harbor at 2:40 and a bit later while talking about when Germany invaded Norway.
Why show pictures of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor while narrating about the beginning of the Battle of Britain? Why show B-17's while talking about the Luftwaffe bombing London? If you are going to tell a historical tale then keep the images accurate. Other than that, you are either being deceitful or lazy.

What absolute rubbish. The Queen was always a constitutional monarch and acted ont he advice of the elected governments in all of her independent Realms. The Queen reigned while her elected governments ruled.
Though I am certainly a fan of Winston Churchill, the only truly great leader is Jesus Christ. How do you get to hell? Very simple: claim that you're innocent. How do you get to heaven? Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy. How to know if you're guilty or not? Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible. Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police. Do not lie. Do not steal. Do not commit adultery. Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word. There are six more but let's just leave it at that. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman. How many times a day do you do that? Do you use God's name as a cuss word? Would you do that with your own mother's name? If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty. God can justly punish you and send you to hell. Ask him for mercy. His name is Jesus. It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine. The fine is death. Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul who sins shall die. That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy. Option A. You die for your own sins. Option B. Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you.
Few heeded Churchill, not least the King, Edward Eigth the traitor Davey.
However, the working class routinely pay little attention to what is going on. The Saxe Colburg and Gotas, however, The Firm do and David, Lilibet, Margot and Mrs Bowes Lyon all made the Facist salute.
Alot of anecdotal fluff. The video should be about CHURCHILL and the queen you dolts. Down arrow, skip and move on.
