Mmmm wouldn't that amount bias? Churchill himself said the victors write the history. What is important is to read history from various angles. By 1951 when Churchill became a peacetime prime minister he was well past his best, having started to have strokes during the closing days of the war. It is said that Eden who was Foreign Secretary wanted to ask the King to persuade Churchill to resign, however, the King died before this could happen.

@@chrisw1090 while true, it's hard for most amateur and even professional historians to refrain from personal bias, but if one wants to see Churchill's viewpoints and opinions, his books are undoubtedly the best way to gain that information. I personally found a great deal of insight while reading an abridged version of his Second World War books, so much so I have resolved to read all of his non-fiction books to their fullest extent.

George VI remained King until his death in 1952, more than 6 years after the end of the war in Europe. By the time Elizabeth became Queen, Churchill was struggling to command the support of the Conservative Party in Parliament. Yes, he had been a colossal figure from 1940 until 1945, and he supported the young Queen admirably, but she was not a wartime (WWII) queen. This tale is sadly garbled, with footage of US troops linked to commentary about events long before the Americans mobilised following Pearl Harbour in December of 1941. Churchill's finest hours came in the late 1930s and early 1940s, when he was chastising his predecessors as Prime Minister, laying bare the Nazi threat, and encouraging Roosevelt to step up to the mark with men and materials to support the British and Empire efforts to hold off the Germans, Italians and their allies until the Yanks finally came through. Then, his sad reward for years of heroic effort was to be sidelined as the Americans set out to "win the War." Elizabeth was still a girl, and her contribution was to be a motor mechanic in the Army.

There are probably many good things about this film, but I stopped watching after only a couple minutes because of its huge, easily checked historical errors. Hitler became Chancellor - appointed by President Hindenburg - in 1933, not 1939. And the Nazis never 'won' a (free) general election, tho they did get the largest vote in the first of two parliamentary elections of 1932; they got less in the second one, suggesting they had passed their peak of support. The makers of this video might reply that such context is not its main point, it's about Churchill and Elizabeth. That doesn't wash; you can't treat basic, factual accuracy (this is Not obscure stuff, any competent European historian could've easily corrected the opening of this script, the narrator's confident tone of voice notwithstanding) as a trivial nuisance, then expect to be taken seriously. If they can't get stuff like that right, how accurate is the rest of the video? And how reliable is its perspective?

Though I am certainly a fan of Winston Churchill, the only truly great leader is Jesus Christ. How do you get to hell? Very simple: claim that you're innocent. How do you get to heaven? Very simple: Admit that you're not Innocent, you're guilty and ask for mercy. How to know if you're guilty or not? Simply: Compare your life to the Ten Commandments God gave you in the Bible. Everyone agrees that if people followed the ten commandments there would be no need for governments or police. Do not lie. Do not steal. Do not commit adultery. Do not insult God by using his name as a cuss word. There are six more but let's just leave it at that. How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever taken anything that didn't belong to you? Jesus said, if you look at a women lustfully you've already committed adultery in your heart with that woman. How many times a day do you do that? Do you use God's name as a cuss word? Would you do that with your own mother's name? If you answer these questions honestly you know that you're guilty. God can justly punish you and send you to hell. Ask him for mercy. His name is Jesus. It's as simple as this, The Ten Commandments are called the moral law. You and I broke God's laws. Jesus paid the fine. The fine is death. Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul who sins shall die. That's why Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. This is why God is able to give us Mercy. Option A. You die for your own sins. Option B. Ask for mercy and accept that Jesus died on the cross for you.
