Churchgate Railway Station and traffic - Bombay in 1990's - rare archival footage
Churchgate is still an important location in Mumbai or Bombay as it was in the days of the British Raj. The Churchgate Railway station is a converging point for suburban trains known as Mumbai local trains.
Thousands exiting the railway station on their way to work or coming back from work. The slum areas near the footpath. Men and children selling snacks to the thousands commuting here. Cars fill the streets near the beach as people get ready to go to work. Thousands walk past the advertisement hoardings of companies which were the frontrunners in automobiles, television and even cigarettes. Local train with passengers hanging out the doors of the train moving swiftly.
Fiat Uno and Close-up toothpaste hoardings on Mumbai's streets.

No mobile phones, no head phone, no masks, no fear pure bliss and free, even if chaotic. Brings tears in my eyes considering how much humanity has deteriorated in the last 30 years.

Iam from PAKISTAN and I love Mumbai But can you tell me why Bombay name changed to Mumbai
@seenuviju
3 жыл бұрын
@@biazaib05 The city's official name change, to Mumbai from Bombay happened when regional political party Shiv Sena came into power in 1995. The Shiv Sena saw Bombay as a legacy of British colonialism and wanted the city's name to reflect its Maratha heritage, hence renaming it to pay tribute to the goddess Mumbadevi.Sep 19, 2016
