I've attended this pow wow for several years now, and I'll keep coming back, year after year. As long as there's a Chumash Days, I'll be there for it.

The gentleman at 1:10 with the wolf head piece and white face paint just spoke to me for some reason I would love to know what tribe he is of. I'm from the Great Lakes area so i would not know of these tribes. I don't even know which Great Lakes tribe I am from or even if I'm First Nation or Native American Tribe On either side of my family as I have either Blackfoot or Shoshone from my mother and Great Lakes from my father. I love seeing so many nations gathered at these events. For me even if you don't know the dance or song you can still enjoy with just feeling the music run through you. It does with me just by watching these types of videos

Thank you so much for your comment, and I’m glad you liked the video! I’ve attended several gatherings in this area, and that particular gentleman is usually in attendance. If I see him again, I’ll ask him for you. My feeling is that he is from one of the northern tribes, but this is an inter-tribal event, open to those from all over. I have met people from the Plains areas as well.

@@JfCLA Thank you. I have a feeling he is from The Northern tribes as well just by his outfit as it just screams power and strength with i think fear in a respectful way. He for some reason reminds me of not sure how to word this so as not to be disrespectful of this man and his tribe is him becoming one with the animal that he is wearing. I also think he spoke to me as I love wolves big time.

@@JfCLA There is a clip I found a while ago of Native American dancers with one of them being a Veteran that was maybe WW2 or Korea in and electric chair followed by some Marines. I just wish I could find that clip again. It spoke to me just how .powerful that was when you have men from 3 different times of life dancing, I just can not recall the tribe or location as this clip was at least a decade ago. But oh the power by just watching

Chumash and Acjachemen represent Los Angeles and Orange County and the surrounding areas. Disneyland is our graveyard. The songs in this video are beautiful, but they aren't our songs. We're a peaceful tribe. Massive love to the world and all people.

@@JfCLA it's a gathering of nations, so there's a bunch of different tribes, but the song is Northern Cheyenne. This is probably in Montana at their annual get together.

@@chenzenzo It's actually in Malibu, CA, hosted by the Chumash. I believe it was an inter-tribal pow wow though, so it makes sense the drum was from Cheyenne...I've heard the songs up there in Montana as well, on the Crow land.
