✨️🥁 Chumash Native American, Indian Tribe, California 2023 Powwow, USA, Walking Tour
The region along the California coast was first settled about 13,000 years ago. Chumash people once numbered in the tens of thousands in villages spread over 7,000 square miles, from Malibu to Paso Robles and from the Pacific Ocean to the western edge of the San Joaquin Valley.
Chumash Native Americans called themselves, " The First People" and pointed to the Pacific Ocean as their first home.
Many elders say that Chumash means "bread maker" or "Seashell people"
The annual Chumash Intertribal Powwow is held in Santa Ynez Valley California. This amazing Powwow is to provide educational and cultural experience while promoting tribal self-reliance and pride.
Join me to walk through this event and let's experience the Powwow together. 😎

It's refreshing to see so many Native Americans in one place who actually carry the phenotypes of their ancestors.
