Man, I LOVE the original/earlier show tapes of the CEC characters. They felt like a perfect balance between being just appropriate enough for kids, while still being genuinely clever, mature, and occasionally even a bit risqué (but in a more subtle way) for the adults. It feels actually engaging and imaginative for nearly all ages, and musically it had quite the outreach and variety. I don't see too much wrong with most of the show tapes and material that came afterwards, but I really do feel like they've forgotten throughout the years that this group of rag-tag characters are supposed to be like a nickel and dime Disney group. Chuck and company are supposed to be like a sleezy, sarcastic, and relentless bunch of butting friends who are only ever trying to put on a show for their patrons. It's like a mix between Meet The Feebles, and The original Muppet Show. (Sorry for the long-ass rambling of a comment, great animation, too!)
