Yeah cuz they literally got rid of everything including the stage/animatronics , tickets, tokens, and play area. Just like mcdonalds got rid of their iconic mascots and play area

Right? I just went to a birthday party there and where the animatronics used to be, is just a screen with the characters performing. I was in shock at how different chuck e cheese was since i went it yeara ago :(

​@Insta_ChiLL360Honestly, the tokens are the greatest loss in the newer format. The credit card thing they have now is nothing compared to the raw power children felt when holding a CEC cup, heavy with the weight of tokens. Such wonderful memories from many years ago...

That swipe card has nothing on the old tokens. A full tub of tokens was heavy, and made younger me feel so powerful "So many tokens, I can play ANYTHING!" So many memories have been unlocked

Modern CEC is cramped and lacking.

Chuck E. Cheese used to have heart and soul put into it. Now it just feels like a regular arcade.

Those were my days…..

Dude this just reawakened SO MANY MEMORIES. I completely forgot about the hand-stamps, I always found them so cool to get and look at, the stepping spiders game and the bee catching game was my FAVORITE! I was so sad when I couldnt find it at the Chuck E. Cheeses near me. I used to spend so many tokens on that game. And the jungle gyms were amazing.. I remember smiling and banging on the glass to wave at my parents from above near the ceiling. I loved the feel of being above everything and everyone else, and I loved pretending I was driving cars in the extensions they placed in. I wish they didnt change this. This was the best version of Chuck E. Cheese. Much better than the CGI Chuck E. Cheese.

Ugh, god looking at these pictures brings back so many memories. I miss the 2000s so much, I may have been a kid but I was so glad to have lived in such a beautiful decade. No tiktok, technology didn't get in the way of real life since social media was still in it's infancy, nintendo was the hottest thing and I played the hell out of pokemon platinum and soul silver and how can I ever forget the golden age of nickelodeon and cartoon network? Take me back, just take me back... T_T

Most locations have been painted this ugly neon green, Chuck went from a cartoon rat to a CGI mouse, the sky tunnels are gone, no ice cream, tokens are gone, the animatronic stage has been demolished, and in the center of the building there is a cheesy looking dance floor.
